GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Situation.  Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) Manpower Management Enlisted Assignments (MMEA) must make every effort to provide Marines with individual face-to-face interviews.  The intent of these interviews is to ensure that Marines who are eligible for reenlistment in Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) are able to make informed decisions about their careers and have an opportunity to communicate with their Primary Military Occupational Specialty (PMOS) monitor about their assignment options and potential for future service.
2.  Mission.  In order to maximize opportunities for Marines to communicate with CMC (MMEA) personnel, CMC (MMEA) will engage Marines on all major installations from 1 August 2022 to 15 September 2022.
3.  Execution.
3.a.  Intent.  CMC (MMEA) will leverage technology to conduct a virtual roadshow where Marines have the opportunity to conduct a video teleconference with their PMOS monitor.  Marines should prepare by viewing CMC (MMEA) recorded briefs, and commands must make every effort to allow Marines to participate.  Interview times will be assigned and disseminated by the Major Subordinate Command (MSC) Career Planner through unit leadership.
3.b.  Concept of Operations.  The FY23 CMC (MMEA) Virtual Roadshow will be executed in three phases.  Phase I:  In progress.  From March through 31 May 2022, CMC (MMEA) leadership will execute Key Leader Engagements (KLE) in conjunction with Focused Retention Assist Visits (F-RAV) at major installations, conducting an education and messaging campaign in support of the FY23 Retention Campaign.  Phase II:  Beginning on or about 1 June 2022, CMC (MMEA) will conduct a public engagement campaign via social media and official messaging to increase awareness for Marines around the force.  Phase III:  From 1 August 2022 to 15 September 2022, CMC (MMEA) will conduct virtual interviews with individual Marines with an emphasis on those Marines who are eligible to reenlist in FY23.  Due to budgetary constraints, CMC (MMEA) will not fund travel to major installations during this phase.  However, MSCs may request in-person visits from CMC (MMEA) personnel during their designated roadshow engagement window as outlined in paragraph 3.d.  The requesting MSC must fund all roadshow-related travel expenses for requested CMC (MMEA) personnel.
3.b.1.  Virtual Roadshow Interviews.  The primary means for communication will be MarineNet Adobe Connect, secondary will be Microsoft Teams, and tertiary will be Defense Switched Network (DSN) phone.  CMC (MMEA)’s intent is that virtual interviews are conducted from a workstation, cell phone, or hard-line at each unit.  Each unit will be allocated interview times via the MSC Career Planner, during which CMC (MMEA) personnel will be available for interviews, reenlistments, and discussions on future assignments.  Similar to the physical roadshow, CMC (MMEA) will execute “on-the-spot” retention and assignment actions in accordance with (IAW) the FY23 Retention Guidelines during the virtual roadshow.
