GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The purpose of this MARADMIN is to solicit qualified Enlisted Marines to screen for Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1).  All Marines assigned to HMX-1 must meet specific and very stringent criteria mandated by the White House Military Office (WHMO) as outlined in Ref (A).
2.  HMX-1 is responsible to the WHMO for worldwide helicopter transportation of the President of the United States.  Based at Marine Corps Air Facility, Quantico, Virginia, the HMX-1 "Nighthawks" fly a fleet of VH-3D, VH-60N, VH-92A, and MV-22B aircraft.  Additional HMX-1 missions include helicopter transportation within the National Capital Region for the Vice President of the United States, visiting Heads of State, Headquarters Marine Corps, and support for Combat Development and Integration.
3.  The following criteria will be used to determine eligibility for selection:
3.a.  Time on station (TOS):  Marines must have 24 months TOS from the date of execution of permanent change of station orders (PCSO) or permanent change of assignment orders (PCAO).
3.b.  Marines can expect a 36 to 48 month tour obligation upon receipt of PCSO.
3.c.  Marines must be capable of passing a thorough background investigation and be able to obtain at minimum a Top Secret security clearance.

4.a.  Communication Systems Operator Marines (06XX) require further screening and must contact the HMX-1 Communication Chief to determine their suitability for designation as an air crewman.  This requirement is for all communication Marines and cannot be waived.  The Communication Chief can be reached through MBX.HMX1.CSORecruiter@whmo.mil
