GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The purpose of this message is to announce the results of the Marine Corps 2022 innovation challenge, spring iteration.
2.  Background.  Per Ref a, the Innovation Challenge is intended for uniformed and civilian personnel to take advantage of the Marine Corps investment in the O365 suite of capabilities and produce meaningful Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) applications that have the potential to increase productivity beyond their local units, across any one or more warfighting functional areas.  Participants were encouraged to specifically consider developing applications that support the objectives of Ref b.
2.a.  From 28 Feb to 3 Jun, Dir IC4 hosted the spring iteration of the 2022 Innovation Challenge.  Participation in this event was open to Marines and DoD civilians from across the MCIEE.  Individuals or teams competed in developing applications using O365 seeded-capabilities to develop software-as-a-service applications designed to improve individual and unit readiness, mission effectiveness, and increase productivity beyond their local unit or command, across any one or more warfighting functional areas.
3.  Selectees.  13 total applications were submitted for consideration from the following units:  MCIWEST, MARFORPAC, DCI IC4, DC P&R EBT, MCTSSA, 3RD MAW, network activity reserve, TECOM, MACG-38, I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), and HQMC FSB.  The HQMC Information and Knowledge Management Steering Group (IKMSG) evaluated all submissions and offers sincere congratulations to all for a job well done.

3.b.  An honorable mention goes to the AUTOSAAR app developed by a team at FSB, Reisig CIV Myles T, Miller CIV Kyle W, Rivas CIV Allbey J.  The I/KMSG recognizes this effort as it touches upon a process that effects every user in the Marine Corps.
4.  Future opportunities to participate.  The solicitation message for the fall iteration of the 2022 Innovation Challenge is forthcoming.  The fall iteration will feature the use of power apps premium licenses.  Application proposals selected by the USMC IKM steering group will have the option to use premium capabilities, such as the data verse, when developing their applications.  The USMC IKM steering group will host 3-day training session with Microsoft for those selectees to support their development process.
