GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  On behalf of the United States Marine Corps, I salute the United States Coast Guard on the occasion of your 232nd anniversary.
2.  Since its founding by Alexander Hamilton on 4 August 1790, the Coast Guard has continuously ensured the Nation’s safety and security by saving lives, standing vigilant over American shores, and guarding U.S. interests overseas.  Fighting alongside the U.S. Navy during the American Civil War, through both World Wars, Vietnam, and more recently in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan, the Coast Guard has faithfully rendered its unique seafaring contribution to our Nation.  
3.  Today, all Marines salute you and are proud to serve alongside each of you.  Happy 232nd Birthday and Semper Paratus.
