GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. This MARADMIN announces the 2022 Montford Point Marine Day and 57th National Convention from 25-27 August 2022 at the Camp Lejeune Paradise Point Officers’ Club at 2615 Seth Williams Boulevard, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina 28547. The Guest of Honor will be the Secretary of the Navy, the Honorable Carlos Del Toro. The Commandant of the Marine Corps, General David Berger will be the Congressional Gold Medal Presenter on 25 August 2022.
2. The mission of the NMPMA is “to promote and preserve the strong bonds of friendship born from shared adversities and to devote ourselves to the furtherance of these accomplishments to ensure more peaceful times.”
3. The Opportunity, Diversity, and Inclusion Branch (MPE) will sponsor 100 Marine attendees’ conference/registration fees and all related travel expenses. Commanders are encouraged to authorize Temporary Additional Duty for Marine's, civilian Marine's, and Sailors attached to their units. Local travel is authorized for members in the local area. All Marine Corps funded participation must be coordinated through MPE. Rental cars are not authorized.
4. Requests to participate in this event should be emailed to the group mailbox MPE_Outreach(@)usmc.mil via your Officer-in-Charge and include the following information: name, rank, unit, email, and duty station no later than 19 August 2022.
5. The uniform of the day for Marines attending the conference is Service “C”. The uniform for the awards banquet is Service “A”.
6. NMPMA is a non-federal entity wholly independent of the Marine Corps. Find more information on the NMPMA website at www.montfordpointmarines.org.
7. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.
