GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The 2022 Women In Defense (WID) National Conference will be held on 27 September 2022 at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel at 2800 South Potomac Avenue, Arlington, Virginia 22202.  The Opportunity, Diversity, and Inclusion Branch(MPE) will sponsor 25 attendees’ conference/registration fees and all travel expenses.  
2.  Women In Defense (WID) is a National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Affiliate that engages, cultivates and advances women in all aspects of national security.  Incorporated in 1985, WID provides members a business environment for professional growth through strategic networking, education, and career development.  This national alliance is comprised of women and men from industry and defense organizations of every size; all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces; Government agencies, academia, think tanks, associations, and professional services
3.  Admin and Logistics:  Commanders may authorize Temporary Additional Duty for Marines, Civilian Marines, and Sailors who are attached to their units.  Local travel is authorized for members in the local area.  All Marine Corps funded participation must be coordinated through the MPE Branch.  Rental cars are not authorized by MPE branch but may be authorized by parent command (coordination with MPE is required). 
4.  To attend this event please email (via your OIC) your name, rank, unit, email and duty station to the POCs no later than 24 August 2022.
5.  Uniform of the day:  Service “C”.
