GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The purpose of this MARADMIN is to clarify the process for Marines who desire to volunteer for a second tour on Recruiting Duty, and to highlight the personal career management, career stability, and financial incentives afforded to those who successfully complete a second tour. This message applies to those Marines who previously completed a successful tour on recruiting duty and obtained the additional MOS of 8411.
2.a. In addition to the SDA volunteer package, second tour recruiters must have a by-name-request (BNR) to a Recruiting Station (RS) of their choice. Marines who are unfamiliar with the BNR process are directed to contact the Recruiting Monitor via the contact information listed above.
2.b. Once a Marine obtains a BNR through the RS of their choice, the location will be guaranteed upon approval of the SDA volunteer request by HQMC (MMEA).
2.c. A BNR can only come from the RS Sergeant Major or RS Recruiting Instructor. Marines should include the BNR point of contact when submitting a volunteer second tour recruiting duty package: Rank, Last Name, First Name, Contact Number.
3. Second tour recruiters are eligible for SDA Volunteer Incentive Pay in accordance with reference (c), paragraph 4.f.1.
4. Marines rate a geographical duty station preference upon completion of a successful second tour.
5. Tour Length. Second tour assignments to Recruiting Duty are 24 months. Marines will be issued PCSO directly to the specific RS that the BNR was obtained from. The RS will determine if a Marine is required to attend Basic Recruiters School again prior to arrival.
6. Eligibility requirements. In addition to the eligibility requirements contained in reference (a), Marines applying for the above mentioned billets must meet and comply with the following criteria:
6.a. Regular active duty Marines in the grade of Staff Sergeant through Gunnery Sergeant.
6.b. Have successfully completed their first tour as a Recruiter (AMOS 8411).
6.c. Served a minimum of 6 months time on station after the execution of Permanent Change of Station orders before submitting a request.
6.d. Have 24 months Time On Station (TOS) at estimated date of departure, in accordance with reference (b). Time on Station requirements for Marines requesting assignment in the same geographic location do not apply. Request for ETP will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
7. Marines are eligible to submit a volunteer package at any time during any fiscal year.
8. This MARADMIN is not applicable to the Marine Corps Reserve.
9. Release authorized by MajGen Michael J. Borgschulte, Director, Manpower Management Division.//
