GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.The Enlisted Retention Section (MMEA-1) of the Enlisted Assignment Branch at Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps will host a Career Planner Symposium.
1.a. The symposium will be held 31 Jan 2023 - 2 Feb 2023 and located within the James Wesley Marsh Center, Building 3280 aboard Quantico, VA.
1.b. Marines who are traveling OCONUS will depart duty stations on 29 January while CONUS Marines will depart on 30 January. The return date is 3 February for OCONUS and CONUS.
1.c. The symposium is intended for Major Subordinant Command (MSC) Career Planner SNCOICs and/or Assistant SNCOICs identified in paragraph 1.d.
1.d. MSCs: MARFORCOM, MARFORRES, MARFORSOC, I MEF, II MEF, III MEF, 1ST MAW, 2D MAW, 3D MAW, 1ST MARDIV, 2D MARDIV, 3D MARDIV, 1ST MLG, 2D MLG, 3D MLG, MCCDC, MCIPAC, MCIEAST, MCIWEST, TECOM, CAREER PLANNER SCHOOL, MCRD-PI, MCRD-SD, and LOGCOM.
2. The symposium will include a series of informational briefs and guided discussions concluding in viable courses of action that present the most effective and efficient method to retain the most qualified Marines within the constraints of evolving manpower requirements for future retention seasons.
3. Funding for symposium participation is the responsibility of the attendees parent command.
3.a. Government messing is not available.
3.b. Billeting has been reserved for 40 attendees at the Inns of the Corps. All attendees must confirm reservations by calling (703) 630-4444 prior to 14 Jan 2023 and should identify themselves as part of the Career Planner Symposium.
3.c. It is recommended that the Career Planners traveling from the same geographical locations share rental car expenses whenever feasible. All efforts should be made to reduce costs associated with the symposium.
3.d. Uniform for symposium is the Marine Corps Woodland MARPAT Combat Utility Uniform.
4. MSCs should identify attendees NLT 18 November 2022 via email to GySgt Branch. A confirmation of receipt will be sent in response. The following format will be utilized:

e. Email Address
4.a. Marines who fail to provide all the necessary information by the deadlines above will not be considered to attend.
