SUBJ/MARINE CORPS RESERVE TOYS FOR TOTS PROGRAM 75TH ANNIVERSARY//
RMKS/1.  As we commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and thanks to all Marines, Sailors, civilians, and their families who have volunteered their time for this worthy cause.
2.  From Colonel William “Bill” Hendricks, USMCR (Retired) initiating the campaign in 1947, through the establishment of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in 1991, to the modern day, the Marine Corps Reserve and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation have operated an ever-expanding campaign to reach the less fortunate during the holiday season.  The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program grew from a local endeavor in 1947, to a national well-known and much-loved organization, encompassing more than 840 local campaigns around the United States, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Territories of Guam and Puerto Rico.  In total, the program has delivered 627 million toys to 281 million children.  Each year, the program has distributed more toys, and supported more families than in the previous year.  In 2021, over 22 million toys were provided to more than 8.4 million children.
3.  The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program continues to serve and contribute to the well-being of local communities.  The Marine Corps Reserve and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation have embraced the challenge of service.  Their selflessness and compassion are in keeping with the commemoration’s theme, “Always Faithful.  Always Ready.”
4.  As I have said before, there is glory in sacrifice.  There is glory in comradeship.  There is glory in service to our nation.  I extend my sincere gratitude to all those involved with the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, and the staff at the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation for their continued service to our Nation.  Congratulations on this Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program 75th Anniversary!
5.  Semper Fidelis, David H. Berger, General, United States Marine Corps, Commandant of the Marine Corps.//
