GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Per ref (a), on 12 December 2022, the FY23 Combat Mission Team (CMT) command selection board convened to select officers for duty as CMT commanders beginning in the summer of 2023.
2.  The board considered the records of all officers who applied against the requirements of the teams, individual career progression, competitiveness, and overall needs of the Marine Corps.  As an integral component of our cyberspace force, the board selected only those officers who met the standard of best and fully qualified for duty with the Cyber National Mission Force (CNMF).
3.  Selection board results.
3.a.  Selection as CMT commanders.
Name                        MOS     Unit
Brunetti-Lihach, Nicola     0602    CMT-1
Gardner, Michael L.         1702    CMT-2
3.b.  Selection as alternate.
Name                        MOS
Hart, Matthew R.            0202
3.b.1.  No action is required by the alternate selectee.  If a team becomes vacant due to a declination or other circumstances, the alternate will be fleeted up to take command.
4.  Officers selected as CMT commanders are to accept via email to their monitor listed in paragraph 6 NLT 14 calendar days from the release of this message.
4.a.  Declinations.  Officers selected for CMT command who subsequently decline command must submit their declination in writing (AA form) to HQMC (MMOA-3) via the first general officer in their chain of command NLT 14 calendar days from the release of this message.  A declination letter will become part of the officer's OMPF.  A declination renders an officer ineligible for screening on future command selection boards.  Alternates fleeted up to take command are also required to formally decline via the procedure described above if they decline command.
4.b.  Deferrals.  Officers selected for CMT command who are unable to execute orders due to extraordinary life or professional circumstances may request a deferral.  If approved by Director, Manpower Management, officers will be automatically selected and re-slated on the FY24 CMT command selection board.  Primary selects may submit a deferral request in writing (AA Form) to HQMC (MMOA-3) via the first general officer in their chain of command.
4.c.  All correspondence must originate from the selected officer.  In the case of AA forms requesting declination or deferral, officers should scan all documents into a single portable document format (PDF) and email it to the MMOA SMB mailbox at:  SMBMMOAPLANSO@usmc.mil.
4.d.  Once an officer accepts their selection and receives orders, they are subject to reference (b) and (c).
4.e.  Following receipt of orders, officers must promptly complete a Counterintelligence-Polygraph prior to orders execution, have an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) or have a Tier 5 investigation for SCI adjudication open, and complete additional MARFORCYBER security paperwork.  Questions about these security requirements should be directed to the MARFORCYBER Special Security Office at MARFORCYBER_SSO_OMB@nsa.gov.
4.f.  Officers will be assigned a command sponsor to assist with onboarding.  The point of contact for sponsor assignment is the Marine Corps Cyberspace Warfare Group (MCCYWG) Sponsorship Coordinator, Captain Angelique Johnson at angelique.johnson2@usmc.mil and (240) 373-2317.
5.  Selected officers shall complete the Cyberspace Operations Planners Course (COPC) prior to PCSing or en route to MARFORCYBER.  For assistance with registration for these course, contact the MCCYWG S-3 Mr. Zachary Ensminger at zbensmi@nsa.gov and (240) 373-2679.
