GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Purpose. To provide an update on the reactivation And development of Marine Corps Distribution Management (MOS Occfield 31xx) online Marine-Net training courses.
2. Background. The Distribution Management Working Group (DMOWG) Within the DC I and L Transportation and Distribution Symposium (formerly operational advisory group (T&D OAG)) identified a range of training and education gaps within the military occupational Specialty (MOS) 31xx Distribution Management Community. HQMC (LPD) has been working with Marine-Net to reactivate and develop online training courses that directly address operational education and training gaps for the distribution management community core competency functional areas. This includes associated capability tasks and management requirements of: sustainment freight and cargo, passenger transportation, household goods/personal property, in-transit visibility programs, transportation finance, third-party payment systems accounting, contracts for transportation conveyance, commercial transportation provider navigation, preservation, packaging, packing, marking, DoD and joint transportation systems, Joint/expeditionary distribution and logistics, and dod component Transactional interfaces (i.e., DLA, SDDC, JPPSO, NAVSUP, MSC, USTRANSCOM, services, etc).
3. Target audience. The target audiences are marines and civilians working in distribution management offices and distribution/transportation management billets. However, these courses are "open enrollment" on marine-net for any mos. All personnel functioning under a combat service support role or organization are encouraged to enroll and complete selective training courses.
4. Courses. Each online Marine-Net training course is designed to complement the distribution management intermediate course (dmic), Distribution Management Advanced Course (DMAC), the Distribution Management Officers Course (DMOC), the Distribution Management Basic Course (DMBC), as well as other-service sponsored required formal Education (i.e., Army, Air Force, Navy, Joint, And DoD schools for 31xx). These Marine-Net training courses have been specifically designed to provide topic-centric refresher and detailed training that enhances mos proficiency and career progression for the 31xx occfield (mos 3102 and 3152) across the full spectrum of billets and organizations employed; installations, MEF, MARSOC, MLG, MEU, MEB, MMDC, DLC, NAVSUP FLC, SPMAGTF, MCLOG, TECOM, MARFORS, COCOM, DLA, SDDC, joint, and DoD-level elements.
