GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The 2023 Women in Defense (WID) National Conference will be held on 26 September 2023 at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel at 2800 South Potomac Avenue, Arlington, Virginia 22202.
2.  WID is a National Defense Industrial Association Affiliate that engages, cultivates, and advances women in all aspects of national security.  Incorporated in 1985, WID provides members a business environment for professional growth through strategic networking, education, and career development.  This national alliance is comprised of women and men from industry and defense organizations of every size and all branches of the armed forces, government agencies, academia, think tanks, associations, and professional services.
3.  The Opportunity, Diversity, and Inclusion Branch (MPE) will sponsor 25 conference registration fees and travel expenses for this event with the authorized travel days being 25 September and 27 September 2023.  Lodging reimbursement is limited to the government rate with travelers utilizing the integrated lodging program as applicable.  Commands may authorize rental cars using unit funds.
4.  Outreach events are open to all Marines, Sailors, and Civilian Marines regardless of rank, race, ethnicity, gender, or status.  Requests to attend this event should be submitted to the Branch mailbox at MPE_Outreach@usmc.mil via the individual’s Officer-in-Charge, and must include the following information:  name, rank, unit, EDIPI, email, and duty station.  Attendees must have a government travel charge card in their possession and a Defense Travel System (DTS) profile attached to their respective unit.  Requests must be submitted no later than (NLT) 8 August 2023.  Requests received after the NLT date will not be facilitated.
5.  Uniform of the day for this event is Service “C” for Marines, Service Khaki for Sailors, and business casual for Civilian Marines.
6.  DTS questions should be directed to the traveler’s local DTS office or by visiting the DTS website at www.defensetravel.dod.mil.
7.  This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.
