GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose.  To solicit applications for membership to the CY2024-2026 MCRPB.  All submitted applications will be considered and voted on during the CY2023 fall meeting in order to fill vacated positions for the CY2024-2026 MCRPB.  The CY2023 MCRPB is scheduled to convene in the national capital region during September 2023.
2.  Background.  The MCRPB is mandated per the references to consider, recommend, and report to the Secretary of the Navy on reserve policy matters.  Membership of the MCRPB will be composed of highly qualified individuals of the Selected Marine Corps Reserve, Individual Mobilization Augmentee Program, Active Reserve (AR), and Active Component (AC), who possess a wide range of experience.
3.  Eligibility Requirements
    a.  The board is seeking seven nominees, five primary and two alternate members.  The nominees shall be between the grades of E7-E9, CWO2-CWO5, and O3-O6.
    b.  The Board Chair requests Commanders to encourage qualified candidates with experience and knowledge of reserve policy matters to apply.
    c.  All primary members will serve for a three-year period and must have a minimum of three years of service eligibility remaining.
    d.  All alternate members will serve for a one-year period.
    e.  If selected to the board, membership will begin on 1 January 2024 and expire on 31 December 2026 for primary members and 31 December 2024 for alternate members.
    f.  The MCRPB is scheduled to meet at least once each quarter.  The summer and winter meetings will be held virtually and are normally scheduled for one day.  The spring and fall meetings are held in person and normally are scheduled for three days, with a travel day before and after, as required.  The fall meeting will be held at the Pentagon and surrounding areas.  The spring meeting will be held in Quantico, VA, or another location at the discretion of the Board Chairman.  Selected Marine Corps Reserve and Individual Mobilization Augmentee members will receive Active Duty for Operational Support (ADOS) orders to attend in-person meetings.  AC and AR members will attend in TAD status.
    g.  Members will be assigned policy issues to research, analyze, and present to the Board.  Once the Board deliberates on an issue, the member will champion the issue until resolution.  Members are encouraged to request ADOS or Additional Training Periods (ATPs) in the execution of official board duties performed outside of scheduled meetings.  HQMC, Reserve Affairs Division funds ADOS orders requests in support of the MCRPB.  ATPs are requested through the member’s local unit, with coordination and approval from the MCRPB Chief of Staff.  Members are expected to make every effort to attend all scheduled meetings and work on assigned policy issues.
    h.  Potential applicants are advised to carefully consider their availability to fully participate as a Board member in light of the Board’s meeting schedule and membership responsibilities amongst other personal and professional obligations.
