GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  By authority of 10 U.S.C. 8044, because there is a vacancy in the office of Commandant of the Marine Corps, the undersigned shall perform the duties of the Commandant until a successor is appointed.  All effective orders and directives issued by the 38th Commandant shall remain in effect.
