GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Purpose. This MARADMIN announces the convening of the Department of the Navy (DON) Cyberspace Workforce Readiness and Qualification Summit.
2. Background. The DON Chief Information Officer issued a transition directive, reference (a), directing the Navy and USMC cyberspace workforce program alignment in accordance with the recently published Department of Defense (DOD) Chief Information Office (CIO) Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management policy, reference (b). The transition will provide policy updates on key areas of references (c) and (d) for transitioning from the DON Cyberspace Information Technology and Cybersecurity Workforce to the DON Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program, hereafter referred to as the DON Cyberspace Workforce (CWF) Program.
3. To transition and fully execute the DON CWF and meet the qualification requirements outlined in the DOD Cyberspace workforce framework (DCWF), USMC cyberspace project managers (CWF PM) will provide crucial support and oversight of the organizational and command level cyberspace workforce. The summit will provide hands-on sessions for CWF PM's to understand the DCWF qualification program, human resource support and coordination, DON and USMC resources and management tools, and latest policy updates from DON and DOD.
4. Attendance. The Deputy Commandant for Information (DC I), Information Workforce Division (IWD) is requesting one in person CWF PM attendee from each of the following commands Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command, Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group, 1st Network Battalion (NET BN), 2nd NET BN, 3rd NET BN, Network Activity Europe/Africa, Marine Forces, Pacific, Marine Forces, Reserve, Marine Corps Forces Command, I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), II MEF, III MEF, Marine Corps Installations (MCI) Pacific, MCI East, MCI West, Marine Corps Systems Command, and Technology Services Organization. DC I Workforce Division (WD) will sponsor the travel expenses for this event with the authorized travel days being 13 AUG and 16 AUG 2023. Lodging reimbursement is limited to the government rate with travelers utilizing the integrated lodging program as applicable. Identified attendees must have an active Government Travel Charge Card and Defense Travel System account for use. For those not attending in person, a virtual option will be provided to listen in on working groups and briefs.
5. Registration Required. In person attendees are required to register and be confirmed by DC I, IWD. Registration will close on 4 AUG 2023. Confirmed attendees will be notified via separate correspondence. Please fill out the registration for at https:(slash)(slash)forms.office.com/r/pXckj8tTHv.
6. Briefs. Briefs will be available approximately one week prior to the summit via separate correspondence. Attendees must also be prepared to participate in working groups and understand their command’s CWF concerns and challenges.
7. Funding/Travel/Billeting. Funding, travel, and billeting instructions will be coordinated by DC I, IWD via separate correspondence.
8. Location. The summit will be held 14-15 AUG at Booz Allen Hamilton Norfolk 5800 Lake Wright Drive, Suite 400, Norfolk, Virginia.
9. Dress Code. Business Casual.
10. This MARADMIN is applicable to Marine Corps Commands with authorized coded cyberspace workforce personnel on the Table of Organization.
