GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The Reserve Retention Section of Reserve Affairs Division, Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Headquarters Marine Corps, will host a Reserve Career Planner Symposium.
1.a. The symposium will be held from 15 August 2023 - 18 August 2023 and located at Liversedge Hall, Large Conference Room, 15 Drive Quantico, VA 22134.
1.b. Marines traveling OCONUS will depart their duty stations on 13 August, while CONUS Marines will depart on 14 August 2023. The return date is 19 August for OCONUS and CONUS.
1.c. The symposium is intended for MARFORRES Career Planners filling Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (SNCOIC) billets, Career Planners assigned to Direct Affiliation SNCOIC billets, and Career Planner Gunnery Sergeants who are or will be stationed at a MARFORRES unit.
1.d. Career Planners SNCOICs not stationed at a MARFORRES unit are invited. Funding for attendees not listed paragraph 1.c. is the responsibility of the attendee’s parent command.
2. The symposium will include a series of informational briefs and guided discussions concluding in viable courses of action that present the most effective and efficient method to retain the most qualified Marines within the constraints of evolving manpower requirements for future retention seasons.
3. Funding for symposium participants will be provided by Reserve Affairs. NAVMC HQ 971 (X-ORG) is due to RA no later than 31 July 2023. X-ORG will be emailed to sharon.chatman@usmc.mil.
3.a. Government messing is available for morning and evening meals. No chow is provided during the symposium. Proportional meal rate is authorized.
3.b. Billeting. Attendees will stay at Liversedge Hall, 15 Liversedge Drive, Quantico, VA 22134. Reservations must be made prior to arriving, rooms reserved for 20 attendees. All attendees must confirm reservations by calling (703) 630-4444 prior to 1 August 2023 and should identify themselves as part of the Reserve Affairs Career Planner Symposium.
3.c. It is recommended that attendees traveling from the same geographical locations share rental car expenses whenever feasible. All efforts should be made to reduce costs associated with the symposium.
3.d. Uniform for the symposium is civilian business casual.
4. MSCs should identify attendees NLT 31 July 2023 via email to MGySgt Noyes. A confirmation of receipt will be sent in response. The following format will be utilized:

    d. DSN/COMM Phone
    e. Email Address
4.a. Marines who fail to provide all the necessary information by the deadlines above will not be considered to attend.
