GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose.  The Marine Corps Foreign Language Program is pleased to announce Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion (MCSB) as the FY22 Marine Corps Command Language Program of the Year (CLPOY), and Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Sarah A. Fellezer (PMOS 2629), Defense Threat Reduction Agency, as the Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) Marine Corps Language Professional of the Year (LPOY).
2.  Background.  The CLPOY and LPOY awards recognize the contributions of Marine Corps language professional and language capable Marines and Command Language Programs during FY22.  A panel of senior language and intelligence professionals selected MCSB and SSgt Fellenzer from a group of highly competitive nominees from across the total force.  Both awardees will advance to compete for the FY22 Department of Defense (DoD) Command Language Program of the Year and Language Professional of the Year.
3.  Execution.  MCSB and SSgt Fellenzer will be recognized at this year’s DoD Advanced Command Language Program Manager Workshop in Monterey, California, from 12-14 September 2023.  Additionally, the Marine Corps CLPOY awardee representative and LPOY awardee will each present a 10-15 minute “best practices” brief to their colleagues during the event.
