GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The assignment of officers to the United States Naval Academy (USNA) requires high caliber individuals for positions that support the accession of junior officers into the Naval service.  During the month of October 2023, a panel comprised of staff from Manpower Management Officer Assignments (MMOA) and USNA will select officers for assignment to USNA during FY24.
2.  Eligibility requirements
2.a.  Time on station (TOS).  Officers who will complete the prescribed tour on their current set of orders NLT 30 September 2024 are eligible.  If an officer does not meet this requirement, the officer must contact their primary MOS (PMOS) monitor to discuss waiver submission requirements.
2.b.  Grade.  Officers who are promoted, selected, or in zone for the solicited billet grade requirements are eligible to apply.
2.c.  Officers who meet the TOS and grade requirements must also have:
2.c.1.  Excellent military appearance.
2.c.2.  Consistent first class Physical Fitness Test and Combat Fitness Test scores.
2.c.3.  PMOS credibility with demonstrated military proficiency.
2.c.4.  No adverse material.
2.c.5.  Career timing that supports a full 36-month tour at USNA.
2.c.6.  Recent operational experience.
3.  Application process
3.a.  Interested officers must first contact their PMOS monitor for approval to screen on the panel for assignment to USNA.  The approval correspondence from the PMOS monitor is a prerequisite for submission of the application.
3.b.  Upon receipt of approval to screen by the PMOS monitor, all officers screening for positions outlined are encouraged to visit https:(slash)(slash)www.usna.edu/USMC/index.php, download, and submit the USNA staff application to the USNA Points of Contacts listed.  If unable to download the application, contact the USNA POC listed below.
3.c.  The deadline for application submission is 2359 16 October 2023.
4.  Projected FY24 billet vacancies:
4.a.  USNA, Annapolis, MD.
4.a.1.  8006, Maj, Leadership and Ethics Instructor.  Serve as a leadership instructor within the Leadership, Ethics, and Law Division.  Bachelors in Psychology, Philosophy, Organizational Management, Leadership, or Sociology preferred but not required.
4.a.2.  8006, Capt, Economics Instructor.  Serve as an Economics Instructor in the School Humanities and Social Sciences, Economic Department.  Masters of Business Administration or a Masters degree in an economics related field of study is required.  Financial Management MOS (3404) preferred.
4.a.3.  8006, Capt, English Instructor.  Serve as an instructor Within the English Department. Master’s degree required in English or appropriate field.
4.a.4.  8006, Capt, Languages Instructor.  Serve as a language instructor in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Language Department.  Teaching proficiency in Spanish, Chinese, or Japanese is preferred.  Proficiency in Russian, German, French, or Arabic will be considered.  A Masters degree is required.
4.a.5.  8006, Capt, MCMAP Training Officer.  Serve as the Course Coordinator for Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, a Physical Education (PE) Instructor, and as the Football Coach for the Sprint Football Team.
4.a.6.  8006, Capt, Physical Education Instructor.  Serve as a PE Instructor and the director of player development for the Varsity Navy Football team.
4.b.  Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS), Newport, RI.
4.b.1.  8006, Maj, Instructor/Marine Corps Representative.  Serve as the executive officer to the NAPS Commanding Officer.
5.  MMOA will release a results MARADMIN in November/December 2023 to ensure maximum deconfliction with other non-statutory boards and panels.
