GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This year, Deputy Commandant for Information is proud to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Cyberspace Operations Community.
2. The Cyberspace Operations Occupational Field was established by the Service in 2018 and the Cyberspace Operations MOS were put into effect on 1 October 2018.  Cyberspace Warfare Marines have been and continue to be a trained and ready force positioned in the Cyber Mission Force, Joint Forces, and Fleet Marine Force (FMF) supporting Combatant Commanders’ operational requirements.  Cyberspace Warfare Marines’ expertise in the cyberspace operations has proved to be a vital asset in modern warfare, enabling the achievement of significant victories and the protection of our nation's interests.  The Marine Corps creates robust and ever adaptable cyber capabilities which place the Cyberspace Warfare community at the forefront of Information during competition, and if called upon, conflict.
3. As we celebrate this distinct milestone for Cyberspace Warfare Marines across the globe, we note the continued evolution of our information forces and information capabilities.  The Marine Corps’ recognition of the Information Warfighting function, publication of Marine Corps Doctrinal Publication (MDCP) 8 Information, and the reestablishment of the Cyberspace Operations Occupational Field as the Information Maneuver Occupational Field all demonstrate the continued and increasing value of professionalizing our workforce.  Working hand in hand with the Marine Corps’ space, influence, and electromagnetic spectrum operations professionals Cyberspace Warfare Marines provide FMF and Joint Force commanders the means to generate information advantages across the competition continuum and achieve our collective objectives.  Through continued innovation our Marines ensure that the Marine Corps will continue to thrive in the fight for and with information.
4. Marines fight in every climb and place, including cyberspace.  Cyberspace Warfare Marines continue to uphold Marine Corps traditions and meet and exceed standards and expectations.  On this special day, we salute our Cyberspace Warfare Marines, for their exceptional service and dedication to our nation. Happy 5th Anniversary, and may you continue to achieve great success in all your future endeavors.
