GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose.  To solicit nominations for Intelligence Data and Software Engineer Necessary Military Occupational Specialty (NMOS) 2652 training.
2.  Background.  Active component enlisted Marines holding Primary Military Occupational Specialty (PMOS) of 2651 can apply for the Intelligence Data and Software Engineer course to obtain NMOS 2652.  The 2652 training program consists of two segments:
2.a.  Cybersecurity Certificate Course (CCC) at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA CC), Course identification code: C61BNQ1.
2.b. Intelligence Data Engineer Capstone at Marine Corps Intelligence Schools, Dam Neck, VA, Course identification code: N46C1F2.
2.c.  To receive NMOS 2652, Marines holding PMOS 2651 must successfully complete both segments of the 2652 training curriculum.
2.d.  Per ref (a), only Marines holding PMOS 2651 are eligible to receive NMOS 2652.
3.  Execution.  Students will be assigned to Monitored Command Code (MCC) K13, Weapons Training Battalion (WTB), Training Command, Training and Education Command (TECOM)

3.c.  Course funding: TECOM
3.d.  Dates listed are estimated. 265X Occupational Field (OccFld) Specialist will provide finalized details concerning reporting instructions and course dates in selection message.
3.e.  Prerequisite: Nominees must hold PMOS 2651, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems Engineer.
3.e.1.  Nominees must be within USMC height/weight and military appearance standards.
3.e.2.  No annual marksmanship waivers will be processed for nominees.  Any such waivers will need to be processed by the detaching command or the gaining command upon completion of the course.
3.e.3.  All required PME for grade must be completed prior to report date.  Nominees will not be released from the course to attend any Professional Military Education (PME).
3.e.4.  All annual training must be completed for FY24 prior to attending the course.  Nominees will not be released to attend any required annual training.
3.f.  Marines from other PMOS within the 02XX/26XX Occupational Fields may be offered available seats to attend the course after all PMOS 2651 applicants have been processed.
4.  Marines selected to attend the 2652 course are required to obligate service for 36 months beyond the course completion date prior to executing orders.  EAS for obligated service must be 30 June 2028 or later.  Service obligation can be met with approved Re-Enlistment Lateral Move (RELM) package or extension of service at current unit.
4.a.  Marines with PMOS 2651 executing RELM will receive Permanent Change of Station/Assignment (PCSA) orders based on needs of the Marine Corps to fill available 2652 Billet Identification Codes.  Marines with other PMOS will receive PCSA orders based on needs of the Marine Corps for their individual PMOS.
4.b.  Marines with PMOS 2651 submitting to extend at current unit must have EAS of June 30 2028 or later to attend course.  Upon completion of course, Marines will receive orders to previous unit and their time on station will be reset.
5.  Submission requirements.  All nominations must be submitted via email to the 265X OccFld Specialist NLT 22 March 2024.  POC details are listed above.  Submissions must come from the nominee’s Reporting Senior and contain the following information:
5.a. Name
5.b. Rank
5.c. EDIPI
5.d. Unit
5.e. Time on station (for RELM Marines only)
5.f. Command Endorsement (PMOS 2651 Marines submitting for extension to return to current command upon course completion)
5.g. Monitor Release (Marines without PMOS 2651)
6.  FY24 2652 Training selection message will be released in April 2024.
6.a.  Selected Marines will be required to ensure service obligations are met as outlined in paragraph 3 prior to being issued orders to course.  Orders will not be issued to selected Marines for the 2652 course without proof of obligated service.
6.b.  In the event a selected Marine is unable to meet requirements for course attendance, a Marine from the alternate list will be offered the school seat selection, and all requirements will be enforced on alternate selectee.
7.  Marines are highly encouraged to have a personal laptop for the Cybersecurity Certificate Course with the following capabilities at a minimum:
7.a.  Base processor (intel i-3, AMD 3000 series, Mac M1)
7.b.  8 Gb RAM
7.c.  HD with minimum 60 Gb available storage space
