GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This MARADMIN solicits nominations for Calendar Year 2024 (CY24) Department of Defense and Affinity Group Outreach Awards.  Nominations will be screened by the Opportunity, Diversity, and Inclusion Branch (MPE) for prerequisite compliance and forwarded to the respective Affinity Group for consideration and selection.  Nominees will be selected based on their superior excellence, leadership, and dedication to supporting the Service and community.  Awards will be measured by two categories:
1.a.  Leadership and meritorious service awards recognize Marines and civilian nominees who have distinguished themselves through their exemplary leadership, promoted the Marine Corps in their community, and fostered positive relationships between the Armed Forces and the civilian population.
1.b.  Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) awards recognize military and civilian nominees who have distinguished themselves by significantly contributing to their organization's mission and the nation through exemplary professional and career achievement, technical contribution, educational leadership, and community service.
2.  Commanders may nominate individuals for more than one award if the criteria for multiple awards are met.  All Marines and civilians are eligible for nomination as indicated regardless of race, ethnicity or gender.

4.  Outreach Awards and nomination due dates are as follows:
4.a.  Becoming Everything You Are (BEYA) Federal Agency Leadership Award (GS14/15 or equivalent) 12 August 2024.
4.b.  BEYA Modern Day Technology Leadership Award (O-4 and below or Civilian Marines) 12 August 2024.
4.c.  BEYA Stars and Stripes Meritorious Military Leadership Award (senior officer (O-6 and above), senior enlisted (E8 or E9), and Senior Executive Service) 12 August 2024.
4.d.  Blacks in Government Meritorious Service Award (military/civilian) 10 May 2024.
4.e.  Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs Grateful Nation Award (military) 12 August 2024.
4.f.  Latina Style Meritorious Service Award (civilian/military) 10 June 2024.
4.g.  Sea Service Leadership Association Major Megan McClung Leadership Award selects a field grade officer, a company grade officer, a staff noncommissioned officer, noncommissioned officer/enlisted, 30 April 2024.
4.h.  Women of Color Outstanding Achievement Award (civilian/military) 30 April 2024.
5.  Selection of award recipients and details regarding the recognition will be announced via separate MARADMIN.
6.  Recipients will have the opportunity to attend the affinity conference, funded by HQMC, to be be recognized.  Outreach Awards are considered commendatory material and can be annotated on the recipient’s  fitness report per the Performance Evaluation System.
7.  Affinity groups are non-federal entities and are not endorsed by the Marine Corps.
8.  This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.
