GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The 2024 Joint Women’s Leadership Symposium (JWLS) will be held from 26 - 28 June 2024 at the Hyatt Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia.
2.  The Sea Service Leadership Association (SSLA) hosts the Joint Women’s Leadership Symposium on an annual basis.  The SSLA is a non-profit organization that provides professional development through networking, education, and mentorship for personnel from all three maritime armed forces;  the United States Navy, the United States Marine Corps, and the United States Coast Guard.  Attendance at JWLS is open to everyone to share in the opportunity to meet amazing trailblazers, find a mentor, and share best practices on how to best lead and inspire others.  The SSLA is a non-federal entity wholly independent of the Marine Corps.  More information can be found on their website at http://www.sealeader.org.
3.  During the symposium, attendees will benefit from candid and insightful discussions, both with senior departmental/service leaders and amongst themselves.  Additionally, this event offers mutually beneficial educational opportunities that provide participants and the Service with a greater understanding of how to work with and capitalize on the differences and strengths within our Corps.
4.  Headquarters United States Marine Corps, Manpower Plans and Policy Division (MP) will sponsor 175 conference registration fees and travel expenses for this event.  MP will fund travel for five days with the authorized travel days being 25 June and 29 June 2024.  Lodging reimbursement is limited to the government rate and the traveler must utilize the integrated lodging program as applicable.  Commands may authorize rental cars using unit funds.
5.  Reserve Marines within the selected reserve will require approval from the first O5 commander in their chain of command to be considered for participation approval.  Reserve commands are required to attach their Marines to their unit while attending the conference and issue Marine Reserve Order Writing System orders using drills or annual training.  MP will fund their registration and all travel expenses during the traveling period of the conference.
6. Participants require command approval, via command endorsement, before requesting sponsorship for attendance and being approved by MP Division for funding.  An endorsement template can be found on the sponsorship request website by visiting https:(slash)(slash) https://www.manpower.usmc.mil/word press/?active_marine=active-marines-home/manpower-plans-and-policy-mp/opportunity-diversity-inclusion-branch-mpe/marine-corps-outreach-mpe-03, and selecting the registration link.  The command endorsement template will be located at the top of the sponsorship page.  The command endorsement must be submitted with the sponsorship submission form.  During the first week of June, individuals who submitted a sponsorship request will receive an e-mail confirming their approval for attendance.  Sponsorship request must be completed no later than 27 May 2024.  Attendees must have a non-delinquent government travel charge card in their possession and a DTS profile joined to their respective unit.
7.  Uniform of the day for this event is Service “C” for Marines, service equivalent for Sailors, and business casual for Civilian Marines.
8.  This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.
9.  Release authorized by Brigadier General D. R. Everly, Director, Manpower Plans and Policy Division.//
