GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The Inspector General of the Marine Corps (IGMC)
is the principal advisor on inspection matters and is the “eyes and
ears of the Commandant.”  This role is firmly rooted in the IGMC
mission to enhance Marine Corps efficiency, integrity, and
institutional readiness.  The IGMC Inspections Division assesses
policy compliance, evaluates the effectiveness of the Commanding
General’s Inspection Program (CGIP), gauges command conditions,
offers instruction and training, and suggests corrective actions to
the units being inspected through impartial assessments and
inspections.  The IGMC conducts command inspections of Marine Corps
units across the Total Force as a part of the overall Department of
the Navy Inspection Program.
2.  No-notice and short-notice inspections may be employed whenever
necessary.  To reduce the impact on inspected commands and better
align with other “foundational” readiness inspections, such as
Marine Corps Administrative Analysis Team (MCAAT) and Field Supply
and Maintenance Analysis Office (FSMAO), IGMC will now publish a
baseline command inspection schedule to assess foundational
readiness.
3.  IGMC will conduct one “co-inspection” of a subordinate command
when conducting Comprehensive Command Inspections (CCI), meeting the
intent of both the “shadow” and “comparative analysis” inspections.
For co-inspections, the higher headquarters command inspector general
(CIG) and local subject matter expert inspectors will conduct an
inspection of the co-inspected unit.  The IGMC inspections team will
observe the inspection to formally evaluate the effectiveness of the
CGIP and inspectors.  Independent Command Inspections (ICI) will not
normally include concurrent subordinate unit inspections. The above
changes will be formalized in the forthcoming revision of reference
(a).
4.  The IGMC will conduct the following inspections in FY25
(read in four columns):

5.  The above IGMC inspections have been pre-coordinated with the
respective CIGs and will not normally be rescheduled or cancelled.
Units may request to reschedule or cancel inspections only when
unexpected circumstances occur.  These requests should be sent via
ETMS2 to IGMC via the chain of command.  IGMC is the final decision
authority for approving rescheduling requests.
6.  Separate from IGMC command inspections, CIGs conduct Commanding
General’s Inspections on behalf of their respective commanding
generals or regional installation commanders.  CIGs may publish
subordinate unit inspection schedules or conduct short-notice
inspections per the intent of this MARADMIN and the guidance of their
respective commanders.
7.  Release authorized by Mr. Carl J. Adams, Jr., SES, Inspector
General of the Marine Corps, Acting.//
