GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Effective this date, reference (a) is cancelled.
2. Marines requesting Medical Hold (MEDHOLD) shall remain with the Command to which they are assigned/attached until the MEDHOLD request is adjudicated by Wounded Warrior Regiment (WWR) and a location for MEDHOLD execution is directed by WWR. In most cases, the Marine will remain with the Command to which they are assigned/attached for the duration of the MEDHOLD period.
3. Amplifying guidance on policies and administrative procedures for Selected Marine Corps Reserve, Individual Mobilization Augmentee, and Individual Ready Reserve (SMCR/IMA/IRR) Marines executing MEDHOLD will be detailed in a forthcoming Marine Corps Order. Publication is anticipated within Calendar Year 2024. In the interim, Commands with questions pertaining to MEDHOLD should seek guidance from the points of contact listed on this MARADMIN as execution may vary on a case-by-case basis as determined by the specific diagnosis, treatment plan, and prognosis for each individual requesting MEDHOLD.
