GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The purpose of this message is to announce and
solicit participation for the Fiscal Year 2024 Equal Opportunity
Advisors (EOA) Symposium. The Culture and Inclusion Branch (MPE)
will host the EOA Symposium at the Defense Equal Opportunity
Management Institute (DEOMI), Patrick Space Force Base, Florida from
10-13 September 2024.
2. Attendees will benefit from candid and insightful instruction and
discussions, both with senior departmental/service leaders. These
events offer mutually beneficial educational opportunities that
provide the service leaders and participants with a better
understanding of current mission readiness concerns, how to overcome
obstacles, and provide quality guidance to commanding officers and
supervisors/leaders concerning Military Equal Opportunity.
3. Attendance at the EOA Symposium benefits EOAs in learning about
program updates, professional development, and understanding
prohibitive activities and conduct concerns from other experienced
EOAs.
4. Marines assigned as Collateral Duty EOAs are highly encouraged to
attend. Equal Opportunity Coordinators may submit a request with
justification from their command to attend. Requests must be
submitted to the MPE organizational mailbox at MPE_EO@usmc.mil.
5. All travel costs must be funded by the parent
command/organization. There is no fee to attend this symposium.

departure airport.

the attendee’s Organization Defense Travel Administrator located at
their command/organization or by contacting the local DTS office.
