GENTEXT/REMARKS/
1.  Situation.  Joint-service professional development opportunities
for enlisted Marines are limited.  However, Marine Corps University,
with assistance from the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, has
established a long-term relationship with the United States Air Force
Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy (AFSNCOA) resulting in a
limited number of seats for eligible Marine Corps students.  This
academy is located at Gunter Annex, Maxwell Air Force Base (AFB),
Alabama.  The AFSNCOA is an intensive five-week course comprised of
the following core areas:  Senior enlisted leader organizational
leadership environments, national, military, and air power strategy,
and integrated deterrence and strategic competition.  During the
course, students will be required to read, write extensively, and
publicly speak.
