GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Purpose. To update solicitation for nominations
to the FY25 Intelligence Data and Software Engineer course for
Necessary Military Occupational Specialty (NMOS) 2652. This MARADMIN
supersedes reference C and provides updated information on
application deadlines and course location. Reference C is cancelled
upon release of this MARADMIN.
2. Background. Today’s dynamic and complex digital landscape
requires Marines that are equally dynamic and armed with the skills
needed to overcome complex problems. Active component enlisted
Marines holding Primary Military Occupational Specialty (PMOS) of
0231, 0241, 0261, 2621, 2629, 2631, 2641, 2651, 2659, 5951, and 6842
can apply for the Intelligence Data and Software Engineer course to
obtain Necessary Military Occupational Specialty (NMOS) 2652. Other
PMOS are encouraged to apply based on availability of course seats
but will not be granted the NMOS.
2.a. To proliferate Data Engineering capabilities to other
warfighting functions within the Marine Corps, Marines with the
following PMOS are invited to apply based on subject matter
expertise; 0171, 0411, 0511, 0551, 0671, 0673, 3043, 3451, 6012,
6694.
2.b. The 2652 training program consists of two segments:
2.b.1. Cybersecurity Certificate Course (CCC) at Northern Virginia
Community College (NOVA CC), Course identification code: C61BNQ1.
2.b.2. Intelligence Data Engineer Capstone at Marine Corps
Intelligence Activity-West, Quantico, VA, Course identification
code: N46C1F2.
2.c. To receive NMOS 2652, Marines holding appropriate PMOS must
successfully complete both segments of the 2652 training curriculum
per reference (a).
3. Execution. Students will be assigned to Monitored Command Code
(MCC) K13, Weapons Training Battalion (WTB), Training Command,
Training and Education Command (TECOM)

3.a.1. CCC Report Date: No later than 30 June 2025
3.a.2. Cohort start date: August 2025
3.a.3. Cohort end date: March 2026
3.a.4. Location: NOVA CC, Woodbridge, VA
3.b. Course identification code: N46C1F2
3.b.1. Capstone start date: March 2026
3.b.2. Capstone end date: April 2026
3.b.3. Capstone Location: Marine Corps Intelligence Activity-West,
Quantico, VA
3.c. Course funding: (TECOM).
3.d. Dates listed are estimated. 265X Occupational Field (OccFld)
Specialist will provide finalized details concerning reporting
instructions, locations, and course dates in selection message.
3.e. Prerequisite: Nominees must hold PMOS; 0231, 0241, 0261,
2621, 2629, 2631, 2641, 2651, 2659, 5951, 6842 to earn NMOS 2652.
Other PMOS not listed in paragraph 2 and 2.a will be considered on a
case-by-case basis.
3.e.1. Nominees must meet Time on Station (TOS) requirements set by
Marine Manpower Enlisted Assignment (MMEA) to execute PCSA orders.
3.e.2. Nominees must be within USMC height/weight and military
appearance standards.
3.e.3. Nominees must be within USMC physical fitness standards.
3.e.4. All required in-person annual training must be completed for
FY25 prior to attending the course. Nominees will not be released
to attend any required in-person annual training that interferes
with the academic schedule.
3.e.4.a. No annual marksmanship waivers will be processed for
nominees while attending the course. Any waivers will need to be
processed by the detaching command prior to attending the course or
the gaining command upon completion of the course.
3.e.4.b. Nominees will not be released prior to course completion
to attend any Professional Military Education (PME).
3.e.5. All applicants will be required to complete the Data
Engineering Aptitude Test on MarineNet and provide their completion
certificate with their application. Contact the MARADMIN POC to be
granted permission to the course.
3.e.6. All applicants must be eligible for Top Secret/Sensitive
Compartmented Information clearance.
3.f. Applications for Marines with a PMOS not listed in paragraph 2
and 2.a. will be considered and accepted on a case-by-case basis,
pending available seats after all PMOS 02XX/26XX and invited
applicants have been processed.
4. Marines selected to attend the 2652 course are required to
obligate service for 36 months beyond the course completion date
prior to executing orders. End of Active Service (EAS) for
obligated service must be 30 June 2029 or later. Service obligation
can be met with approved Re-Enlistment Lateral Move (RELM) package
or extension of service.
4.a. Marines executing RELM from occupational fields listed in
paragraph 2 will receive Permanent Change of Station/Assignment
(PCSA) orders based on needs of the Marine Corps to fill available
2652 Billet Identification Codes (BIC) WITH 2652 listed as Billet
Military Occupational Specialty (BMOS) or Additional Skill
Designator (ASD). Marines with a PMOS outside of BICS with 2652
listed as BMOS or ASD will receive PCSA orders based on needs of the
Marine Corps for their individual PMOS. All students will be given
the opportunity to relay duty station preferences to MMEA.
4.b. Marines submitting to extend and return to their current unit
must have an EAS of June 30, 2029, or later to attend the course and
upon completion of the course, Marines will receive PCSA orders to
previous unit and their time on station will be reset.
4.c. All Marines must meet TOS requirements set by MMEA to execute
PCSA orders. Waivers for TOS must meet MMEA guidelines and will be
approved on a case-by-case basis. Contact MMEA for monitor release
and include email as enclosure in application package.
5. Submission requirements. All nominations must be submitted via
email to the 265X OccFld Specialist no later than 21 February 2025.

nominee’s Reporting Senior and contain the following information:

(enclosure 3)
5.e. Command Endorsement (enclosure 4. This is only required for
Marines submitting for extension to return to current command upon
course completion).

6. FY25 2652 Training selection message will be released via
MARADMIN. Selected Marines will be notified via official email in
addition to a MARADMIN announcement.
6.a. Selected Marines will be required to ensure service
obligations are met as outlined in paragraph 4 prior to being issued
orders to attend the course. Orders will not be issued to selected
Marines for the 2652 course without proof of obligated service.
6.b. In the event a selected Marine is unable to attend the course,
a Marine from the alternate list will be offered the school seat,
and all requirements will be enforced on the alternate selectee.
7. Marines are highly encouraged, but not required, to have a
personal laptop for the Cybersecurity Certificate Course with the
following capabilities at a minimum:
7.a. Base processor (intel i-3, AMD 3000 series, Mac M1)
7.b. 8 Gigabytes (Gb) of Random Access Memory
7.c. High Definition with minimum 60 Gb available storage space
