GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The Marine Corps Recruiting Ribbon (MCRR) was
established to recognize the significant contributions and
dedication of Marines who serve in an authorized recruiting billet.
This ribbon honors their commitment to sustaining the strength and
quality of the Marine Corps through the critical mission of
recruiting the next generation of Marines.
Purpose. This MARADMIN clarifies eligibility for the MCRR. This
updates billet eligibility, incorporates prior service recruiting
Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) changes and corrects an
administrative error in Ref (a).
2. Action. This MARADMIN serves as authority to award the MCRR to
personnel or to remove a MCRR that was erroneously authorized for a
Marine.
3. Coordinating Instructions. Personnel who have completed a
successful recruiting tour or approved billet are eligible for the
MCRR.
4. Eligibility requirements.
4.a. Personnel at Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC) Headquarters
(HQ), Recruiting Regions, Districts, and Recruiting Stations in 48XX
(not 4821) or 84XX Billet MOS are eligible after a successful tour or
within the timelines established within Ref (a). Additional personnel
authorized to receive the MCRR who are attached to MCRC HQ are the
musician procurement chief, musician technical liaison, and naval
aerospace medical liaison.
4.b. To clarify, previously awarded Marines who complete another
successful tour in a qualifying 48XX or 84XX billet are authorized
subsequent awards.
4.c. Support billets (i.e. A-Billets) or other non-recruiting
billets are not authorized to wear the MCRR unless previously
awarded for serving in a recruiting billet listed in 4.a.
4.d. Non qualifying billets assigned to MCRC HQ are not authorized to
wear the MCRR.
5. Administration and Logistics. Requests for MCRR for tours shorter
than the prescribed timelines per Ref (a) must go through the Chain
of Command to the MCRC Commanding General for review.
6. Command and Signal.
6.a. Commands should ensure Marines wearing the MCRR were authorized
the MCRR per the above guidance.
6.b. The updates above are being included in a future update to Ref
(a).
6.c. Direct questions to the listed POCs.
6.d. This message is effective upon release.
7. Release authorized by Lieutenant General Michael J. Borgschulte,
Deputy Commandant for Manpower and Reserve Affairs.//
