GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The FY26 Sergeant Major and First
Sergeant  Promotion Selection Board (PSB) will convene on 
Wednesday, 15 October 2025 at Building 2008, Marine Corps Base, 
Quantico, VA, for a period of about two weeks to consider all
First Sergeants and Gunnery Sergeants for selection to the next
higher grade.
2.  For additional details regarding Marine Responsibilities, 
Commander Responsibilities, Board Eligibility, Removal from 
Consideration, Professional Military Education requirements, and
Alternate Selection visit the Enlisted Promotions website at 
https://www.manpower.marines.mil click on “Manpower Management” /
“Performance Branch" / “Promotion Section” / “Enlisted" / “Enlisted
Promotions" / “SNCOs” and “Preparation”. These policies impact all
FY26 SNCO PSBs.
3.  All correspondence submitted to the President of the board must
be received no later than 2359, Eastern Standard Time (EST) on 3 
October 2025.
4.  Details for updating the Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS)
and Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) are listed on the 
Enlisted Promotions website.
5.  Professional Military Education (PME) Requirements.  
5.a.  First Sergeant to Sergeant Major: Complete First Sergeants
Course. 
5.b.  Gunnery Sergeant to First Sergeant: Complete the MarineNet
course EPME7000BA and then have completed any one of the following
courses: SNCO Leadership School, SNCO Leadership School Seminar,
Resident Advanced School, Advanced School Seminar, Resident Career
Course, or Career Course Seminar, or if previously affiliated with
the Marine Corps Reserves the Reserve Advanced Course or the Reserve
Career Course.
6.  Special Duty Assignment PME waivers will be granted in 
accordance with the details on the Enlisted Promotions website.  
This exemption does not apply to the EPME requirements.
7.  All Gunnery Sergeants, regardless of Military Occupational 
Specialty (MOS), who meet the Date of Rank (DOR) and, if applicable, 
the Armed Forces Active Duty Base Date (AFADBD) cutoff for First 
Sergeant and whose most recent fitness report has an "F" in block 8h
will be considered for First Sergeant.
8.  The table below lists the MOS's that "feed into" the Intended 
MOS (IMOS) at the next higher grade indicated.  Marines serving in a
basic MOS are considered in their IMOS.  Marines with a Primary MOS
(PMOS) listed in column (A) as a feeder MOS compete for promotion to
the IMOS listed in column (B), provided they meet the eligibility 
requirements listed in paragraph 10 below.

9.  The tentative allocations, zones, and AFADBD cutoffs are 
identified below.  Marines with a DOR that is earlier than the
DOR identified for a zone are eligible for consideration in that 
zone.  When an AFADBD is specified, it pertains only 
to those Marines with the listed DOR.  The AFADBD is not applicable
for determining eligibility of those Marines whose DOR is earlier 
than the DOR listed.

date of the board.  MOS changes after the date of this MARADMIN are
not authorized without the prior approval of Manpower Plans Programs
and Budget Branch (MPP-20).
