GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The GEICO Military Service Awards program
recognizes and pays tribute to the many contributions of our
nation's Military enlisted members as "Citizen and Service Member."
The program honors one currently serving enlisted member from
each of the armed services, and one National Guard member for their
achievements and contributions off-duty and on-duty for their
civilian and military communities. The award recognizes
achievements or contributions made in both of the following
endeavors:
1.a. Off-Duty Accomplishments: community involvement and
volunteerism.
1.b. On-Duty Accomplishments: acts of exemplary service and how to
lead by example.
2. The Award winners will be recognized with a certificate to
commemorate their accomplishment and a cash honorarium of $5,000
from the GEICO Philanthropic Foundation.
3. Eligibility: All currently serving enlisted service members
(E-7 and below), including the National Guard and reserves, with
at least one year of service remaining after 30 December 2025 are
eligible. Previous recipients of this award are ineligible.
4. Selections are based on demonstrated off-duty community
involvement, volunteer activities, contributions, or noteworthy
accomplishments that enhance the civilian community. Also,
on-duty/in-uniform accomplishments that place this person above
their peers while serving in one of the Armed Services, Reserves,
or National Guard will be considered. GEICO prioritizes a nominee's
off-duty volunteer activities and community impact, followed by
their in-uniform accomplishments.
