GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Purpose. To solicit nominations for Intelligence
Data Engineer Necessary Military Occupational Specialty
(NMOS) 2652 training.
2. Background. Today's dynamic and complex digital landscape
requires Marines that are equally dynamic and armed with the skills
needed to overcome complex problems. Active component enlisted
Marines holding Primary Military Occupational Specialties (PMOS) of
0231, 0241, 0261, 2621, 2629, 2631, 2641, 2651, 2659, 5951, and 6842
can apply for the Intelligence Data Engineer course to obtain NMOS
2652. Other PMOS are encouraged to apply based on availability of
course seats, but will not be granted the NMOS.
2.a. In an effort to proliferate Data Engineering capabilities to
other warfighting functions within the Marine Corps, Marines with
the following PMOS are being invited to attend based on subject
matter expertise; 0111, 0171, 0411, 0511, 0551, 0671, 0673, 3043,
3451, 6012, 6694.
2.b. The 2652 training program consists of two segments:
2.c. Cybersecurity Certificate Course (CCC) at Northern Virginia
Community College (NOVA CC), Course identification code: C61BNQ1.
2.d. Intelligence Data Engineer Capstone at Marine Corps Base
Quantico, VA, Course identification code: N46C1F2.
2.e. To receive NMOS 2652, Marines holding appropriate PMOS outlined
in ref (a) must successfully complete both segments of the 2652
training curriculum per ref (a).
3. Execution. Students will be assigned to Monitored Command Code
(MCC) K13, Weapons Training Battalion (WTB), Training Command,
Training and Education Command (TECOM)

3.c. Course funding: TECOM
3.d. Dates listed are estimated. 265X Occupational Field (OccFld)
Specialist will provide finalized details concerning reporting
instructions, locations, and course dates in the selection message.
3.e. Prerequisite: Nominees must hold PMOS; 0231, 0241, 0261, 2621,
2629, 2631, 2641, 2651, 2659, 5951, 6842 to earn NMOS 2652. Other
PMOS not listed in paragraph 2 and 2.a will be considered on a
case-by-case basis.
3.e.1. Nominees must meet Time on Station (ToS) requirements set by
Marine Manpower Enlisted Assignment (MMEA) to execute Permanent
Change of Station/Assignment (PCSA) orders.
3.e.2. Nominees must be within USMC height/weight and military
appearance standards.
3.e.3. Nominees must be within USMC physical fitness standards.
3.e.4. No annual marksmanship waivers will be processed for nominees
while attending the course. Any waivers will need to be processed by
the detaching command prior to attending the course or the gaining
command upon completion of the course.
3.e.5. Nominees will not be released from the course to attend any
Professional Military Education (PME).
3.e.6. All required in-person annual training must be completed for
Fiscal Year (FY)26 prior to attending the course. Nominees will not
be released to attend any required in-person annual training.
3.e.7. All applicants will be required to pass the Data Engineering
Aptitude Test on Marine Corps eLearning Ecosystem (MCeLE) and
provide their completion certificate with their application. Contact
the MARADMIN POC to be granted permission to the course.
3.e.8. All applicants must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance.
Waivers will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
3.f. Applications for Marines with PMOS not listed above will be
considered and accepted on a case-by-case basis, pending available
seats after all PMOS 02XX/26XX/5951/6842 and invited applicants have
been processed.
4. Marines selected to attend the 2652 course are required to
obligate service for 36 months beyond the course completion date
prior to executing orders. EAS for obligated service must be
30 June 2030 or later. Service obligation can be met with approved
Re-Enlistment Lateral Move (RELM) package or extension of service.
4.a. Marines within Occupational Fields 02XX/26XX executing RELM
will receive PCSA orders based on needs of the Marine Corps to fill
available 2652 Billet Identification Codes and 02XX/26XX Billet
Identification Codes with 2652 listed as Additional Skill
Designator. Marines with PMOS outside of 02XX/26XX will receive
PCSA orders based on needs of the Marine Corps for their
individual PMOS.
4.b. Marines submitting to extend and return to their current unit
must have an EAS of 30 June 2030 or later to attend course. Upon
completion of course, Marines will receive PCSA orders to their
previous unit and their time on station will be reset.
4.c. All Marines must meet TOS requirements set by MMEA to execute
PCSA orders. Waivers for TOS must meet MMEA guidelines, and will be
approved on a case-by-case basis. Contact MMEA for monitor release
and include email as enclosure in application package.
5. Submission requirements. All nominations must be submitted via
email to the 265X OccFld Specialist NLT 30 January 2026. POC details
are listed above. Applications must come from the nominees Reporting
Senior and contain the following information:

5.b. Page 11 entry acknowledging required obligated service (encl 1)
5.c. Monitor release (encl 2)
5.d. MCeLE certificate for Data Engineering Aptitude Test (encl 3)
5.e. Command endorsement (enclosure 4. This is only required for
Marines submitting for extension to return to current command upon
course completion).

6. FY26 2652 training selection message will be released in Q2FY26
via MARADMIN.
6.a. Selected Marines will be required to ensure service obligations
are met as outlined in paragraph 4 prior to being issued orders to
course. Orders will not be issued to selected Marines for the 2652
course without proof of obligated service.
6.b. In the event a selected Marine is unable to attend the course,
a Marine from the alternate list will be offered the school seat,
and all requirements will be enforced on alternate selectee.
7. Marines are highly encouraged to have a personal laptop for the
Cybersecurity Certificate Course with the following capabilities at
a minimum:
7.a. Base processor (Intel i-3, AMD 3000 series, Mac M1)
7.b. 8 Gb RAM
7.c. HD with minimum 60 Gb available storage space
