MSGID/CMC WASHINGTON DC//
SUBJ/THANKSGIVING MESSAGE 2025//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. This Thanksgiving, Americans have much to be
thankful for: our families, our freedom, and the strength of our
Nation. I am deeply grateful to every Marine and Sailor who serves
with pride and purpose. Your commitment, discipline, and devotion
to duty sustain our way of life and protect the liberty we cherish.
As you gather with loved ones, remember that your service binds you
to a greater family, your fellow Marines across the globe, and a
grateful Nation that stands behind you.
2. For many, this holiday marks a reunion, time spent reconnecting
with those we love after long separations or demanding deployments.
Make the most of it. Take time to rest, reflect, and strengthen the
bonds that hold us together as families and as a Corps. For those
forward stationed or deployed: what you do matters to the Corps and
to the Nation. While others gather at home, you stand the watch and
keep the peace.
3. Whether at home or abroad, each of you stands as a link in an
unbroken chain that stretches back to 1775. We are a family forged
in purpose, resilient in hardship, and united by shared service. I
am proud of you, thankful for you, and confident in all that lies
ahead. Enjoy this day, take care of one another, and return renewed
in spirit and strength. Happy Thanksgiving.
4. Eric M. Smith, General, U.S. Marine Corps, Commandant of the
Marine Corps.//
