2. Projected appointment dates may change due to unanticipated
changes in the structure or inventory of each MOS. Appointments
will be made as vacancies occur in each MOS and in accordance with
reference (a). Selectees in the same MOS will be appointed by
seniority as determined by lineal control number. Projected
appointment dates will not be reflected on CMC's (MMPB-1) monthly
MARADMINs announcing promotions. Selectees should contact their
respective occupational field (OccFld) sponsor for updated
projections. Monthly updates will be provided to all OccFld
sponsors by the Restricted Officer Planner at MPP-30, contact
information above.
3. Appointments to LDO captain take effect when a selected officer
signs and submits a NAVMC 763 and MMOA-3 runs the document on diary.
MMOA-3 will e-mail the NAVMC 763 to each selected officer the month
prior to their promotion. The administrative procedures required to
affect the appointment will be explained in the email. Once the
officer executes their oath and signs the NAVCM 763, they must
immediately submit the NAVMC 763 to MMOA-3 via email at
SMB_MANPOWER_OFFICER_PROGRAMS@USMC.MIL. The required material must
be received by MMOA-3 within three days of the effective date of the
officer’s appointment (the first of the month) for the officer's pay
and allowances to begin on the date the officer was appointed.
If the required material is received later, the officer may lose
pay and allowances. If this occurs, the officer must contact their
local administration section, not MMOA-3, to recoup the lost pay and
allowances.
4. Execution of the NAVMC 763 obligates the officer to a minimum
of three years of service as an LDO. Acceptance also requires the
officer to have 10 years of commissioned service (from the date of
promotion to CWO2) to become retirement eligible as an LDO.
5. Selected officers should contact MMPB for promotion warrants
using the contact information above.
6. Release authorized by BGen Fridrik Fridriksson, Director,
Manpower Management Division.//
