GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. This MARADMIN announces the
recipient of the FY25 Francis D. Gill Chemical,
Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense
(CBRND) Excellence Award.
2. Background. Established in 2016, the Francis D.
Gill Excellence Award recognizes the top-performing
CBRND non-commissioned officer whose contributions
foster esprit de corps and the advancement of the
CBRND mission within their unit and the broader
CBRND community.
3. The Fleet Marine Force and supporting
establishments provided a distinguished slate of
nominees, with each nominee embodying the exceptional
proficiency, dedication, and leadership that define
the CBRND community and Marine Corps non‑commissioned
officer ranks. From this highly competitive field of
nominees the selection board proudly recognizes
Sergeant Ryan A. Maxey of the 22d Marine
Expeditionary Unit, II Marine Expeditionary Force,
as the recipient of the FY25 Francis D. Gill CBRND
Excellence Award.
4. Congratulations to Sergeant Ryan A. Maxey and all
nominees for your contributions to the development
of esprit de corps and the advancement of the CBRND
mission within your unit and the broader CBRND
community.
5. Moving forward, Training Command, CBRND School,
Marine Corps Detachment, located at Fort Leonard
Wood, MO, will assume sponsorship of the Francis D.
Gill CBRND Excellence Award.
