SUBJ/184TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING SYSTEMS
COMMAND, 159TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CIVIL ENGINEER CORPS, AND 84TH
ANNIVERSARY OF THE NAVAL CONSTRUCTION FORCES//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. On behalf of all Marines, I am honored to extend
our sincerest congratulations as you celebrate the 184th Anniversary
of the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, the 159th
Anniversary of the Civil Engineer Corps, and the 84th Anniversary
of the Naval Construction Force. We are proud to celebrate the
enduring legacy of our partnership in building and fighting.
For generations, you have been our indispensable partners,
shaping the very ground from which Marines train, operate and
project power.
2. Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command and the Civil
Engineer Corps' officers and civilians are the silent strength
behind our installations. Your expertise in engineering,
construction, and facility sustainment provides the stable
foundation upon which our readiness is built. From modernizing
our barracks and bases to ensuring our infrastructure can meet the
demands of future conflicts, your work directly enhances the
lethality and well-being of every Marine. We thank you for your
unwavering commitment to our Corps.
3. The brotherhood between Marines and Seabees were forged in the
crucible of World War II and continues to this day. From building
bases under fire in the Pacific to conducting joint humanitarian
missions and readiness exercises, the Seabees have always been by
our side. The spirit of "Can Do" is a legacy we share and a bond
that makes our naval force stronger. Your motto, "We Build, We
Fight," is a reality our warfighters have counted on time and again.
We are, and always will be, proud to serve along side you.
4. As we celebrate these milestones, we pause to honor the profound
sacrifices of the Navy Seabees and Civil Engineer Corps
service members who have given their last full measure of devotion.
The Marine Corps salutes their courage and will never forget their
contribution to our Nation's freedom.
5. To every member of the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems
Command, the Civil Engineer Corps, and the Seabees, thank you.
Your vital contributions to the sea services are deeply
appreciated and will never go unnoticed. On behalf of a grateful
Marine Corps, Happy Birthday!
6. Semper Fidelis, Eric M. Smith, General, U.S. Marine Corps,
Commandant of the Marine Corps.//
