GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose. This MARADMIN describes the transition 
plan from the current Command and Staff College Distance Education 
Program (CSCDEP) 8900 curriculum to the new 9000 curriculum to 
modernize field-grade Professional Military Education (PME) to 
account for the changing character of war and the challenges of 21st 
century Marine Air Ground Task Force, naval, and Joint all-domain 
warfighting. 
2.  The College of Distance Education and Training (CDET) will 
implement the new CSCDEP curriculum commencing with Academic Year 
(AY) 2027.  The new 9000 program will remain as an all-seminar 
experience.  
3.  The CSCDEP school code will remain T4L and the curriculum will 
fulfill Intermediate Level School PME and JPME-1 requirements.  
The Marine Corps e-Learning Environment (MCeLE) curriculum code for 
the new 9000 program will be 9000CSCDEP.  Students must submit 
enrollment requests for seminars beginning on 1 July 2026 through 
MCeLE with the new 9000 curriculum Course Code: 9000CSCDEP.
4.  Starting on 1 July 2026 (AY 27), all students enrolling in 
CSCDEP for the first time will begin the 9000 curricula.  Students 
returning for the second year of CSCDEP will complete the 8900 
second-year courses.  Students currently enrolled in the 8900 
program will have until 30 June 2028 to complete that curriculum 
or transition to the 9000 curriculum.  See equivalencies in 
paragraph 6.
5.  The 9000 curriculum will be comprised of eight seminar courses 
that are delivered over two academic years.  Weekday seminar 
courses will be offered from September to May each AY. The 
default for completing the program will be the onsite weekly 
seminar or weekend seminar, where available.  There will be an 
online weekly seminar offered for officers who are unable to 
participate in an onsite weekly or weekend seminar.  Authorization 
for students to take an online seminar will be made by the 
respective CDET Regional Director.
6.  Students enrolled in the 8900 series who are unable to complete 
the curriculum prior to 30 June 2028 will be granted equivalency 
credit for appropriate 9000 courses.  No partial credit will be 
granted.  Consideration of equivalency for 8900 coursework will 
terminate 30 June 2028.  Specific equivalency mapping between the 
8900 and 9000 can be found on the CDET website at https:(slash)
