GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Throughout the Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Active
Component Enlisted Retention Campaign, commanders, staff, and
leaders at every level played a decisive role in retaining
the Marine Corps’ most talented and qualified Marines. Your
leadership, engagement, and commitment to sustaining a high-quality
force have made this year’s campaign an exceptional success.
2. The continued partnership between the Fleet Marine Force,
supporting establishment, and Headquarters Marine Corps has been
instrumental in achieving our retention objectives. The deliberate
alignment of boatspaces with eligible Primary Military Occupational
Specialty populations, coupled with engaged leadership and
disciplined execution, ensured the Marine Corps met end strength
requirements while maintaining the quality and balance of the force.
3. Through your efforts, the Marine Corps met and exceeded its
enlisted retention mission requirements for FY26. This level of
performance reflects a sustained commitment to retaining the right
Marines to meet current and future force requirements.
4. As a result of the success of the FY26 Enlisted Retention
Campaign, commands are hereby relieved of any remaining active-duty
retention mission requirements for this fiscal year. Final
campaign results will be disseminated via the Total Force
Retention System (TFRS) and published on the Manpower and
Reserve Affairs website. The mission associated with the Direct
Affiliation Program (DAP) remains active as we continue to build
upon the historic success of DAP in the remainder of this FY.
5. Your commitment to informing Marines of continued service
opportunities remains critical to Total Force retention. While
opportunities for continued service in the Active Component may be
limited following the success of this campaign, further service in
the Marine Corps Reserve remains a viable and valuable option.
Additional information and guidance regarding Reserve Component
opportunities, to include available programs and submission
procedures, will be disseminated via TFRS.
6. Attention now shifts to the Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) Enlisted
Retention Campaign. As announced in MARADMIN 590/25, commanders and
leaders at all levels are directed to maintain engagement with
eligible Marines and prepare for upcoming retention operations
in accordance with published guidance. Early, informed, and
deliberate engagement will remain critical to continued success.
7. On behalf of Marine Corps leadership, thank you for your
unwavering dedication and professionalism. Your efforts have
directly contributed to sustaining the strength, readiness, and
warfighting capability of our Corps.
