GENTEXT/RMKS/1. Purpose. This MARADMIN announces Irregular Warfare
and Competition (IW/C) specialty training courses for which Marines
can apply to increase their operational and technical competency in
IW/C. These courses include both Department of War (DoW) and non-DOW
offerings relevant to irregular activities and competition
activities.
2. Background. As directed by the references, the services will
institutionalize Irregular Warfare (IW) as a core competency. To
achieve this, the services will develop and maintain a baseline of
military capabilities and personnel to meet Combatant Command
IW-related requirements while also tracking the associated capacity
and proficiency of the force. The services will establish and
maintain training and education with non-DoW organizations to raise
operational and technical competency of military personnel in IW.
The services will establish and maintain service policies and
programs to entice and incentivize military personnel to raise their
operational and technical competency in IW.
3. Interested Marines can review and register for available courses
under the training tab at: https://usmc.sharepoint-mil.us/sites/
DCCDI/SitePages/Irregular-Warfare-and-Competition.aspx.
4. The approved courses on the above site have been assigned a
unique Service School Code (SSC) or Local School Code (LSC) for use
in tracking student completion of a course in the Marine Corps
Training and Information Management System (MCTIMS).
5. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.
6. Release authorized by Lieutenant General E. E. Austin,
Headquarters Marine Corps, Deputy Commandant for Combat Development
and Integration.//
