GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. As announced by reference (a), the FY28 U.S.
Marine Corps Limited Duty Officer (LDO) Promotion Selection Boards
will convene at 2008 Elliot Road, Quantico, VA 22134, as follows:

2. Promotion Boards. The boards will consider, by MOS and grade
and only as specified by the yearly promotion plan, three categories
of officers: above-zone (AZ), in-zone (IZ), and below-zone (BZ).
Officers defined as LDO in reference (b) on the date the boards
convene are eligible for the relevant boards. Officers with an
established separation date will not be considered by the board if
the separation/retirement date is established by the date the board
convenes. In addition, captains who are not U.S. citizens will not
be considered for promotion to major. Officers may review reference
(b) and their eligibility for the boards on the internet at the
officer promotion homepage. The senior (SR) and junior (JR)
officers IZ and the junior officer eligible BZ are as follows (Encl

2.b.15. No Major LDO Promotion Selection Board will be convened
for the following MOS: 6802.
3. Continuation Boards. Upon conclusion of the promotion
selection boards, the boards will reconvene as continuation boards.
Officers may verify their eligibility for consideration for
continuation by contacting Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC),
Manpower Management Separations and Retirement (MMSR). CMC (MMSR)
will adjust the mandatory retirement dates and/or notify the
officers selected for continuation, as applicable, after the
promotion selection results have been announced. The following
continuation boards will be convened:
3.a. The FY28 USMC Lieutenant Colonel LDO (Select) Continuation
Boards will select for continuation those officers selected by the
promotion selection boards to the grade of lieutenant colonel who
would otherwise be subject to involuntary retirement due to total
years active service until the officers have time to complete three
(3) years in the grade of lieutenant colonel.
3.b. The FY28 USMC Major LDO (Select) Continuation Boards will
select for continuation those officers selected by the promotion
selection boards to the grade of major who would otherwise be
subject to involuntary retirement due to total years active service
until the officers have time to complete three (3) years in the
grade of major.
4. Board preparation guidance. Officers are advised to review
reference (a) for guidance regarding submission of information,
auditing the Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) and Master
Brief Sheet (MBS), fitness reports, deferment of eligibility, and
requests for non-selection prior to the convening date of the board.
Officers may review reference (a) at the Officer Promotion homepage.
5. Personal responsibilities. Each officer is personally
responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of their
OMPF and MBS before the date the board convenes. Refer to reference
(a) for information on obtaining and reviewing your OMPF and fitness
report submission guidelines and timelines.
6. Body Composition. Reference (c) modifies the Height and Weight
requirement to a Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) requirement. At
present, there is no method for the Digital Boardroom to pull
current WHtR information. Previous Height and Weight measurements
contained within an officer's record will be considered, as well as
any fitness reports that were processed with a WHtR directed
comment. Officers who desire to have their current WHtR made
available to the board may (optional) elect to submit WHtR
documentation signed by their Command Physical Training
Representative as an enclosure to their letter to the board pursuant
to the instructions outlined in reference (a). The WHtR is required
for all Marines to be completed prior to 30 June 2026.
7. Officer Correspondence. All eligible officers may, if
desired, submit correspondence to the President of the Board.

requirements, due dates and forwarding options.
