SUBJ/LABOR DAY MESSAGE 2026//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/ 1.  Labor Day is an opportunity to recognize the
generations of Americans whose hard work, skill, and determination
have strengthened our Nation.  Their contributions continue to power
our economy, foster innovation, and reinforce the foundation of our
national strength.
2.  In an increasingly complex world, the strength of our workforce
remains a strategic advantage.  The dedication of our Marines,
Sailors, civilian teammates, industry partners, and the broader
American labor force helps ensure our Nation remains ready to meet
the challenges ahead.  Today, we recognize all those whose work
contributes to our security and prosperity.
3.  As you spend the holiday weekend with family and friends, take
time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the opportunity to reconnect with
those who matter most.  Wherever your plans take you, make
responsible decisions, look out for one another, and return safely.
4.  Thank you for your continued service to our Corps and our
Nation.  Enjoy the holiday and stay safe.
5.  Semper Fidelis, Eric M. Smith, General, U.S. Marine Corps,
Commandant of the Marine Corps.//
