GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  THIS MARADMIN ANNOUNCES THE FY12 OFFICER RETENTION SURVEY.  THE PURPOSE OF THIS SURVEY IS TO ALLOW SELECTED OFFICERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMMUNICATE TO SENIOR LEADERS WHAT FACTORS HAVE THE GREATEST INFLUENCE ON RETENTION AND HOW SATISFIED OR DISSATISFIED THEY ARE WITH CERTAIN ASPECTS OF THE MARINE CORPS AND THE MILITARY WAY OF LIFE. THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE VALUABLE FEEDBACK TO YOUR SENIOR LEADERS REGARDING THE IMPORTANT FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE YOUR CAREER DECISIONS AND AREAS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE MARINE CORPS IMPROVE.
2.  TARGET POPULATION.  ACTIVE DUTY MARINE OFFICERS, IN RANKS FROM SECOND LIEUTENANT THROUGH LIEUTENANT COLONEL OR WARRANT OFFICER TO CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER 5 ARE TO BE AFFORDED THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMPLETE THIS SURVEY.
3.  METHODOLOGY.  MARINES CAN FOLLOW THE LINK THAT IS LOCATED ON THE MANPOWER AND RESERVE AFFAIRS HOMEPAGE TO THE SURVEY (WWW.MANPOWER.USMC.MIL). THE SURVEY CAN ALSO BE ACCESSED AT HTTPS: SLASHSLASH WWW.MANPOWER.USMC.MIL/APPLICATION.
4.  COMMANDERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO HAVE ALL ELIGIBLE MARINE OFFICERS IN THEIR COMMAND TAKE THIS SURVEY NLT 29 FEB 2012.  WHILE THIS SURVEY IS VOLUNTARY, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT AS MANY MARINE OFFICERS AS POSSIBLE TAKE THE SURVEY.  THIS WILL ENSURE THAT SENIOR LEADERS RECEIVE THE BEST POSSIBLE UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT FACTORS MOST INFLUENCE BEHAVIOR AND DECISIONS TO LEAVE OR REMAIN ON ACTIVE DUTY. THIS WILL ALSO ALLOW A MORE COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION OF ATTITUDES TOWARDS MARINE CORPS SERVICE ACROSS THE RESPECTIVE RANKS.
5.  DATA COLLECTION PERIOD.  THE SURVEY IS OPEN TO ALL ACTIVE DUTY MARINE OFFICERS, WARRANT OFFICERS, CHIEF WARRANT OFFICERS AND SECOND LIEUTENANT THROUGH LIEUTENANT COLONEL, BUT TIME WILL BE LIMITED. THE SURVEY WILL RUN THROUGH 29 FEB 2012.
6.  THIS BULLETIN IS NOT APPLICABLE TO THE MARINE CORPS RESERVE.
7.  THIS BULLETIN IS CANCELLED 1 MAR 2012.
