2.  WO SELECTEES ARE SLATED TO BE APPOINTED 1 FEB 2012.  WO SELECTEES WILL ATTEND THE ACTIVE DUTY WARRANT OFFICER BASIC COURSE (WOBC).  BY SEPARATE ORDERS FROM THE COMMANDANT OF THE MARINE CORPS (CMC) (CODE MM), SELECTEES WILL BE ORDERED TO REPORT TO THE COMMANDING GENERAL, MARINE CORPS COMBAT DEVELOPMENT COMMAND (MCCDC) TO ATTEND THE WOBC AT THE BASIC SCHOOL (TBS) WHICH IS SCHEDULED TO CONVENE ON 19 JAN 2012.  SELECTEES MUST REPORT NO EARLIER THAN 0800, AND NO LATER THAN 1700 19 JAN 2012.  REFS (D) AND (E) DEFINE THE DIFFERENCES IN DUTY UNDER INSTRUCTIONS, TEMPORARY ADDITIONAL DUTY (TAD), TEMPORARY DUTY UNDER INSTRUCTIONS, AND REASSIGNMENT ORDERS IN RELATION TO PER DIEM AND OTHER ALLOWANCES.  THE REPORT DATE TO THE WOBC WAS MODIFIED IN ORDER TO EFFECTIVELY SCREEN SELECTEES AND ENSURE THEY MEET APPOINTMENT AND TRAINING STANDARDS PER REF (A) PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT. 
3.  AS OUTLINED IN REF (F), SELECTEES MUST PASS THE PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST (PFT) AND MAINTAIN MARINE CORPS BODY COMPOSITION AND MILITARY APPEARANCE PER REF (G).  PER REF (H) AND PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT, WO (REGULAR) SELECTEES MUST BE FOUND PHYSICALLY QUALIFIED FOR APPOINTMENT BY THE CHIEF, BUREAU OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY (BUMED). 4.  COMMANDING OFFICERS MUST CLOSELY REVIEW THE MEDICAL FORMS TO ENSURE ACCURACY AND COMPLETENESS.  PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:   
    A.  MARKS AND SCARS MUST BE LISTED.   
    B.  DENTAL CLASS MUST BE TYPE 1 OR 2. MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF THE MOST RECENT DENTAL EVALUATION THAT WAS COMPLETED WITHIN THE LAST 12 MONTHS.  
    C.  MEDICAL URINALYSIS (MEDICAL NOT DRUG) AND SEROLOGY MUST CONTAIN COMPLETE RESULTS.   
    D.  HIV RESULTS COMPLETED WITHIN THE LAST 12 MONTHS MUST INCLUDE DATE TESTED AND RESULTS.  HIV TEST DRAWN OR RESULTS PENDINGIS NOT ACCEPTABLE.   
    E.  IF EYESIGHT IS OTHER THAN 20/20 UNCORRECTED, A MANIFEST REFRACTION IS REQUIRED.  IF VISION DOES NOT CORRECT TO 20/20, A CURRENT OPTHAMOLOGY EVALUATION IS REQUIRED.  WO SELECTEES CANNOT HAVE ANY VISION CORRECTION SURGERY (LASIK OR PRK) WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF REPORTING TO WOBC.   
    F.  AN AUDIOGRAM MUST BE COMPLETE.  IF ANY NUMBERS ARE OUTSIDE THE NORMAL RANGE, SUBMIT A REPEAT AUDIOGRAM ALONG WITH AN EVALUATION FROM AN EAR, NOSE, AND THROAT CONSULTATION.   
    G.  FEMALE SELECTEES MUST INCLUDE THE RESULTS OF A CURRENT PELVIC EXAM TO INCLUDE A CURRENT PREGNANCY TEST AND PAP SMEAR RESULTS COMPLETED WITHIN THE LAST 12 MONTHS.   
    H.  ANY AFFIRMATIVE ANSWERS ON DD FORM 2807-1 MUST BE EXPLAINED BY THE PHYSICIAN IN BLOCK 25, AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS ATTACHED.   
    I.  SELECTEES OVER THE AGE OF 35 MUST INCLUDE AN ELECTROCARDIOGRAM.

8.  SELECTEES MUST BE ABLE TO SATISFY SWIM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS PER REF (I), WHICH REQUIRES ALL OFFICERS TO BE A COMBAT WATER SURVIVAL SECOND CLASS (CWS2).  THE CWS2 QUALIFICATION IS A REQUIREMENT FOR GRADUATION.  IF SELECTEES HAVE ACCESS TO SWIM FACILITIES, IT IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED THAT THEY MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTAIN CWS2 QUALIFICATION PRIOR TO ARRIVAL AT TBS.  SELECTEES WITHOUT IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO SWIM FACILITIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTAIN QUALIFICATION.  DUE TO THE DEMANDING PROGRAM OF INSTRUCTION AND LIMITED OPPORTUNITIES FOR REMEDIATION, AN OPPORTUNITY WILL BE MADE FOR UNQUALIFIED WO SELECTS TO SATISFY THIS REQUIREMENT PRIOR TO THE START OF THE COURSE.
9.  UPON ARRIVAL AT TBS, SELECTEES ARE REQUIRED TO PASS A MARINE CORPS PFT AND MEET MARINE CORPS HEIGHT/WEIGHT STANDARDS.  A PFT SCORE OF 225 OR GREATER IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DUE TO THE PHYSICALLY DEMANDING NATURE OF THE COURSE.  HISTORICALLY, THOSE OFFICERS WITHOUT A FIRST CLASS PFT STRUGGLE THROUGH TBS, AND ARE MOST PRONE TO INJURY.  THOSE WHO DO NOT SCORE A FIRST CLASS PFT DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF TRAINING WILL BE PLACED ON A REMEDIAL PHYSICAL TRAINING PROGRAM.  SELECTEES ARE ALSO ENCOURAGED TO PRACTICE RUNNING THE OBSTACLE COURSE WITH EMPHASIS ON ROPE CLIMBING.  HIKING AND RUNNING IN BOOTS AND UTILITIES IS ALSO RECOMMENDED. THERE WILL BE EXTENDED FIELD TIME AT THE WOBC, AND PASSING A FIVE MILE ENDURANCE COURSE IS REQUIRED TO GRADUATE FROM WOBC.
10.  ONCE SELECTEES HAVE BEEN IN-PROCESSED, THERE WILL BE AN APPROPRIATE APPOINTMENT CEREMONY AT 1000 ON 1 FEB 2012.  FURTHER DETAILS WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE ON THE TBS WEBSITE.
11.  COMMANDING OFFICERS ARE REQUIRED TO DOCUMENT BY PAGE 11 ENTRY, A PERMANENT WO SELECTEE'S ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE PROBATIONARY STATUS OF HIS OR HER APPOINTMENT.  ACTIVE COMPONENT WO SELECTEES WILL RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING ENTRY:  "I UNDERSTAND THAT THE FIRST THREE YEARS AS A PERMANENT WARRANT OFFICER (REGULAR) IS A PROBATIONARY PERIOD, AND THAT THE SECRETARY OF THE NAVY (SECNAV) MAY TERMINATE THE APPOINTMENT OF ANY WARRANT OFFICER WHO FAILS TO COMPLETE THE WOBC, OR ANY REQUIRED MOS FOLLOW-ON SCHOOL.  A MARINE WHOSE APPOINTMENT IS TERMINATED MAY, UPON HIS OR HER REQUEST, AND AT THE DISCRETION OF SECNAV, BE ENLISTED IN A GRADE NOT LOWER THAN THAT HELD IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT".  MARINES SELECTED FOR THE WARRANT OFFICER PROGRAM WILL INCUR A 3-YEAR OBLIGATION FROM THE DATE OF APPOINTMENT.
12.  IN THE EVENT THE SELECTEE CHOOSES NOT TO ACCEPT THE APPOINTMENT, THE SELECTEE MUST SUBMIT A LETTER OF DECLINATION VIA THEIR CHAIN OF COMMAND, TO INCLUDE A GENERAL OFFICER LEVEL ENDORSEMENT, TO MCRC ON-E PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT.  A MARINE WHO DECLINES APPOINTMENT SHALL BE TREATED AS IF HE OR SHE HAD NOT BEEN CONSIDERED AND RECOMMENDED FOR APPOINTMENT.
13.  COMMANDING OFFICERS WILL NOTIFY THOSE APPLICANTS WHOSE NAMES ARE NOT LISTED IN PARAGRAPH 1 OF THEIR NON-SELECTION.  REASONS FOR NON-SELECTION ARE NOT DIVULGED BY SELECTION BOARD MEMBERS. 
14.  THIS BULLETIN IS NOT APPLICABLE TO THE MARINE CORPS RESERVE.
