GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. THE PURPOSE OF THIS MARADMIN IS TO SOLICIT MARINES FOR DUTY AS EQUAL OPPORTUNITY ADVISORS.
2. EOAS ARE ASSIGNED TO MAJOR MARINE CORPS COMMANDS TO PROVIDE INFORMATION, ASSISTANCE AND ADVICE ON ALL EO MATTERS TO THE COMMANDING GENERAL, COMMANDING OFFICER, MARINES, SAILORS AND OTHER ATTACHED SERVICE MEMBERS.
3. MARINES SELECTED FOR ASSIGNMENT AS EOAS WILL ATTEND A TEN WEEK EOA COURSE AT THE DEFENSE EQUAL OPPORTUNITY MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE (DEOMI) DURING FISCAL YEARS 2011 AND 2012.
4. INDIVIDUALS SUBMITTING FOR AN EOA BILLET MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING BASIC CRITERIA:
A. MARINE MUST BE A STAFF SERGEANT THROUGH MASTER GUNNERY SERGEANT (DUE TO BILLET REQUIREMENTS, FIRST SERGEANTS AND SERGEANTS MAJOR ARE NOT ELIGIBLE).
B. MARINE IS A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE OR HAS A GED AND A GT OF105 OR HIGHER (GT IS WAIVERABLE WITH DEMONSTRATED ACADEMIC ABILITY SUCH AS OFF-DUTY EDUCATION, SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE IN PME COURSES, ETC.).
C. MARINE WILL EXTEND OR REENLIST TO MEET A MINIMUM 36 MONTHS OF OBLIGATED SERVICE AS OF THE DATE OF GRADUATION FROM THE EO ADVISOR COURSE. ASSIGNMENT ORDERS WILL REFLECT A 36 MONTH TOUR OF DUTY. MARINE MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO EXTEND OR REENLIST TO MEET THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS STATED ABOVE.
5. SUBMIT REQUESTS, APPROPRIATE ENDORSEMENTS, AND COMMANDING OFFICER'S SCREENING GUIDE LOCATED IN THE REFERENCE THROUGH THE CHAIN OF COMMAND TO CMC, MMEA-85 VIA TOTAL FORCE RETENTION SYSTEM (TFRS) NLT 17 JUN 2011. AN OFFICIAL PHOTO, TAKEN WITHIN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, IS REQUIRED. DIGITAL PHOTOS MUST BE ELECTRONICALLY FILED IN OMPF. COMMANDERS MUST VERIFY THAT ALL INFO PROVIDED BY THE APPLICANT IS CORRECT. COMMANDERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ADDRESS ANY ADVERSE MATERIAL. COMMANDERS WILL NOTIFY CMC (MPE) IMMEDIATELY OF ANY CHANGES AFFECTING CURRENT DUTY LOCATION, OR DISCIPLINARY ACTION THAT OCCURS AFTER SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION.
6. SERVING ON EOA DUTY CONSTITUTES SERVING IN A B-BILLET ASSIGNMENT. EOA TRAINING IS LEADERSHIP SKILL BASED TRAINING WITH THE GOAL OF FOSTERING FAVORABLE COMMAND CLIMATES. PROVEN LEADERS OF ALL DEMOGRAPHIC BACKGROUNDS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY FOR THIS DEMANDING DUTY.
