GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. PURPOSE. THIS MESSAGE ANNOUNCES THE U.S. MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR FY11 MANAGED BY THE SCHOOL OF MAGTF LOGISTICS (SOML).
2. TACTICAL LOGISTICS OPERATIONS COURSE (TLOC) (CID: M02LAW0).
A. DESCRIPTION. TLOC IS A THREE-WEEK COURSE THAT PROVIDES CAREER- LEVEL LOGISTICS EDUCATION TO PREPARE MARINE CORPS OFFICERS (WO-CWO3, 1STLT, CAPT), STAFF NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICERS (SSGT-GYSGT), AND CIVILIAN LOGISTICIANS (GS09-12) FOR LOGISTICS COMMAND AND STAFF DUTIES WITHIN THE MARINE CORPS AND THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE (DOD). THE COURSE FOCUS IS ON TACTICAL LEVEL LOGISTICS OPERATIONS IN ORDER TO PREPARE LOGISTICIANS TO ASSUME ACTIVE ROLES WITHIN THE MARINE AIR-GROUND TASK FORCE (MAGTF). THIS COURSE IS CONDUCTED ABOARD MARINE CORPS BASE (MCB) QUANTICO, VA.
B. FUNDING. COMMANDING GENERAL TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND (CG TECOM) WILL FUND ALL TO/FROM TRAVEL, LODGING, AND PER DIEM COSTS FOR ACTIVE DUTY UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS (USMC) STUDENTS ONLY. ALOC IS A FOUR-WEEK RESIDENT COURSE THAT PROVIDES INTERMEDIATE-LEVEL LOGISTICS EDUCATION TO PREPARE MARINE CORPS OFFICERS (CWO3-CWO5, LDO CAPT, MAJ, LTCOL), STAFF NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICERS (MSGT-MGYSGT), AND CIVILIAN LOGISTICIANS (GS13-15) FOR LOGISTICS COMMAND AND STAFF DUTIES WITHIN THE MAGTF AND THE DOD. THE COURSE FOCUS IS ON OPERATIONAL LEVEL LOGISTICS OPERATIONS AND CURRENT LOGISTICS ISSUES IN ORDER TO PREPARE LOGISTICIANS TO ASSUME ACTIVE ROLES WITHIN THE MAGTF AT THE MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE (MEF) LEVEL, AT A MARINE COMPONENT COMMAND, AND WHILE OPERATING IN THE JOINT-INTERAGENCY-MULTINATIONAL ENVIRONMENT. MCLEP IS A TWO-WEEK RESIDENT COURSE THAT PROVIDES INTERMEDIATE LOGISTICS EDUCATION TO PREPARE MARINE CORPS OFFICERS (CWO3-CWO5, MAJ, LTCOL), STAFF NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICERS (MSGT-MGYSGT) AND CIVILIAN LOGISTICIANS (GS13-15) FOR LOGISTICS COMMAND AND STAFF DUTIES WITHIN THE MARINE CORPS AND THE DOD. MCLEP IS COORDINATED BETWEEN SOML, HEADQUARTERS MARINE CORPS INSTALLATIONS AND LOGISTICS (HQMC I L), AND THE PENN STATE UNIVERSITY TO STUDY AND EVALUATE PROVEN AND EMERGING COMMERCIAL AND MILITARY SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT CONCEPTS AND PRACTICES IN ORDER TO FACILITATE MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS MODERNIZATION, AND TO INCREASE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MARINE CORPS AND DOD LOGISTICIANS.

DESCRIPTION:  MCLEP-NONRES IS A ONE-WEEK NON-RESIDENT COURSE CONDUCTED VIA MOBILE EDUCATION TEAM (MET) THAT PROVIDES INTERMEDIATE LOGISTICS EDUCATION TO PREPARE MARINE CORPS OFFICERS (CWO3-CWO5, MAJ, LTCOL), STAFF NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICERS (MSGT-MGYSGT), AND CIVILIAN LOGISTICIANS (GS13-15) FOR LOGISTICS COMMAND AND STAFF DUTIES WITHIN THE MARINE CORPS AND THE DOD. THE PRIMARY MISSION OF LOGTECH IS TO LEVERAGE GLOBAL BEST PRACTICES AND EXPLORE LEADING-EDGE LOGISTICS TECHNOLOGIES TO PREPARE DOD LOGISTICIANS FOR ADVANCES THAT WILL DRIVE LOGISTICS AND ITS SUPPORTING TECHNOLOGIES IN THE FUTURE. THROUGH THE KENAN-FLAGLER BUSINESS SCHOOL AT UNC-CHAPEL HILL, LOGTECH HAS DEVELOPED AND OFFERS TWO DISTINCT EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR MILITARY, DOD, AND PRIVATE SECTOR PERSONNEL: LOGTECH ADVANCED AND LOGTECH EXECUTIVE.

A. DESCRIPTION. THE JLC IS CONDUCTED AT THE U.S. ARMY LOGISTICS UNIVERSITY (ALU), FORT LEE, VA. THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED TO PREPARE MILITARY AND CIVILIAN LOGISTICIANS TO FUNCTION IN ASSIGNMENTS THAT INVOLVE JOINT AND MULTINATIONAL LOGISTICS PLANNING AND SUPPORT IN A THEATER OF OPERATIONS. IT INTEGRATES COMPONENT FUNCTIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE THROUGH THE STUDY OF STRATEGY, DOCTRINE, THEORY, PROGRAMS AND PROCESSES AT THE OPERATIONAL LEVEL.
