GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  RESERVE AFFAIRS CAREER MANAGEMENT TEAM (CMT) WILL HOST THE 2010 MARINE CORPS RESERVE CAREER PLANNER CONFERENCE 16-22 MAY 2010 IN QUANTICO, VA.  THE RESERVE CAREER PLANNER CONFERENCE IS AN ANNUAL EVENT WHERE CAREER PLANNERS (CP), CMT, AND MARFORRES DISCUSS RETENTION RELATED ISSUES AND POLICY IN AN EFFORT TO ENHANCE RESERVE ENLISTED RETENTION.
2.  THE CONFERENCE IS INTENDED FOR ALL CP.  ACTIVE COMPONENT CP ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND IN ORDER TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF RESERVE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR TRANSITIONING ACTIVE COMPONENT MARINES.
3.  THE PURPOSE FOR THE CONFERENCE IS TO PROVIDE INFORMATION FOR UNIT RETENTION REPRESENTATIVES, A FORUM FOR THE DISCUSSION OF CURRENT ISSUES AND CONCERNS PERTAINING TO RESERVE RETENTION AND TO PROVIDE TRAINING FOR CP ON VARIOUS RETENTION POLICIES.
4.  CONFERENCE AGENDA WILL BE FORTHCOMING VIA SEPARATE CORRESPONDENCE.
5.  16 AND 22 MAY ARE DESIGNATED AS TRAVEL DAYS.
6.  THE LOCATION OF THE CONFERENCE WILL BE LIVERSEDGE HALL WHICH IS LOCATED ABOARD MCB QUANTICO.  THERE WILL BE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF ROOMS BLOCKED FOR THE CONFERENCE AT LIVERSEDGE HALL.  ALL ATTENDEES MUST CONFIRM RESERVATIONS PRIOR TO 15 APRIL AND SHOULD IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AS PART OF THE MARINE CORPS RESERVE CP CONFERENCE.  WHEN MAKING A RESERVATION ENSURE YOU GIVE THE GROUP NUMBER "101199 " TO THE FRONT DESK.  BILLETING REQUIRES CREDIT CARD TO CONFIRM RESERVATION.  LIVERSEDGE HALL PHONE NUMBER IS 1-703-784-3149.  FRONT DESK OPEN 24/7.
7.  MAXIMUM PARTICIPATION IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED THIS YEAR DUE TO SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN TOTAL FORCE RETENTION POLICES.  COMMANDS SHOULD IDENTIFY CONFERENCE ATTENDEES TO THE ABOVE POC VIA E-MAIL NLT 31 MARCH.  NEGATIVE RESPONSES FROM MARFORRES UNITS POSSESSING A T/O CPS (MOS 4821) ARE REQUIRED.
8.  UNITS WITH FUNDING SHORTFALLS SHOULD COORDINATE WITH THEIR MSC.
9.  THE UNIFORM WILL BE DRESS BLUE DELTA.  GOV MESSING IS NEITHER AVAILABLE NOR DIRECTED.  ALL ATTENDEES SHOULD BE GIVEN NON REPORTING ORDERS.  RENTAL CARS ARE UNIT FUNDED.  TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ATTENDEES.
