GENTEXT/REMARKS/BACKGROUND:  MARINE CORPS SYSTEMS COMMAND (MCSC) HAS
NEGOTIATED A MICROSOFT PREMIER SUPPORT CONTRACT AS PART OF THE
(MARINE CORPS SOFTWARE ENTERPRISE LICENSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
(MCSELMS) PORTFOLIO.  THIS CAPABILITY PROVIDES HIGHLY SPECIALIZED
MICROSOFT SUPPORT SERVICES TO THE OPERATING FORCES AND IS ACTIVE
FROM NOW UNTIL 29 SEPTEMBER 2009.  AVAILABLE SERVICES INCLUDE 24/7
HELP DESK SUPPORT VIA THE OPERATING FORCES TACTICAL SYSTEMS SUPPORT
CENTER (OFTSSC), ON-SITE/OVER-THE-SHOULDER SUPPORT, AND TECHNICAL
EXPERTISE REGARDING MICROSOFT PRODUCTS.  
1. PURPOSE. USMC CUSTOMERS USING THE MCSELMS MICROSOFT ENTERPRISE
AGREEMENT NOW HAVE AN ADDITIONAL LEVEL OF SUPPORT VIA MICROSOFT
SOFTWARE PREMIER SUPPORT SERVICES.  THE PURPOSE OF THIS MESSAGE IS
TO DISSEMINATE TO THE OPERATING FORCES THE PROCESS FOR ACCESSING
SUPPORT RESOURCES FOR MICROSOFT PRODUCTS.
2. CONCEPT OF SUPPORT. ALL REQUESTS FOR MICROSOFT TECHNICAL SUPPORT
WILL BE ROUTED THROUGH THE MARINE CORPS NETWORKS OPERATIONS SUPPORT
CENTER (MCNOSC) OR THE MARINE CORPS TACTICAL SYSTEMS SUPPORT
ACTIVITYS (MCTSSA) SUPPORT CENTER.
  A.  MCNOSC. THE MCNOSC WILL CONTINUE TO SERVE AS PRIMARY SUPPORT
FOR MCEN ACTIVE DIRECTORY (AD) AND MICROSOFT EXCHANGE SOFTWARE
SUPPORT.
  B.  FOR ALL OTHER SOFTWARE (EXCLUDING AD AND EXCHANGE IN PARA
2.A), THE MCTSSA SUPPORT CENTER WILL SERVE AS THE CENTRAL POINT OF
CONTACT FOR REQUESTS FROM THE OPERATING FORCES REGARDING MICROSOFT
RELATED SOFTWARE SUPPORT ISSUES.  MCTSSA OPERATES THE OPERATING
FORCES TACTICAL SYSTEMS SUPPORT CENTER (OFTSSC).  THE OFTSSC IS A
24/7/365 HELP DESK THAT WILL RECORD, PRIORITIZE, AND COORDINATE
THESE MICROSOFT SUPPORT SERVICE REQUESTS. 
3. FUNDING.  SERVICES ARE FUNDED BY MCSELMS VIA THE SUPPORT
CONTRACT.
4. PROCESS TO OBTAIN TECHNICAL SERVICES.  ALL OPERATING FORCE
COMMANDS THAT REQUIRE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE OR REQUEST MICROSOFT
