RMKS/1. THE CURRENT SNCOADEP, 7200 PROGRAM, IS SCHEDULED TO CLOSE
THIS CALENDAR YEAR AND BE REPLACED BY THE 8200 PROGRAM. THE 8200
PROGRAM WILL CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING COURSES: 8201 MILITARY
STUDIES, 8202 MILITARY JUSTICE AND LAW OF WAR, 8203 WARFIGHTING
TECHNIQUES, 8204 COMBAT TECHNIQUES, AND 8205 COMBINED ARMS.
WARFIGHTING PRINCIPLES WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE 8200 PROGRAM WHICH
WILL NEGATE THE NEED FOR COMPLETION OF THE WARFIGHTING DEP.
2. IN ACCORDANCE WITH REF (A), GUNNERY SERGEANTS DESIRING
PROMOTION TO FIRST SERGEANT OR MASTER SERGEANT MUST COMPLETE THE
SNCOADEP AND WARFIGHTING DEP. COMPLETION OF THE SNCOADEP IS A
PREREQUISITE FOR ATTENDING THE RESIDENT SNCO ADVANCED COURSE.
COMPLETION OF THE RESIDENT SNCO ADVANCED COURSE IS AN ADDITIONAL
REQUIREMENT FOR THOSE DESIRING PROMOTION TO 1STSGT.
3. THIS MARADMIN IS FOR INFORMATION AND SITUATIONAL AWARENESS.
THOSE MARINES WHO ARE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN THE 7200 PROGRAM
SHOULD CONTINUE TO COMPLETE THEIR COURSE WORK AND SHOULD
SUBSEQUENTLY ENROLL IN THE WARFIGHTING DEP. THOSE MARINES
CONSIDERING ENROLLING IN THE 7200 PROGRAM IN THE NEXT TWO MONTHS
MIGHT CONSIDER WAITING FOR THE RELEASE OF THE NEW 8200 PROGRAM.
4. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO TRANSITION FROM THE OLD
PROGRAM TO THE NEW PROGRAM. HOWEVER, STUDENTS WILL NOT RECEIVE
CREDIT IN THE 8200 PROGRAM FOR COURSES COMPLETED IN THE 7200
PROGRAM DUE TO SIGNIFICANT COURSE CONTENT DIFFERENCES.
5. A FUTURE MARADMIN MESSAGE WILL ANNOUNCE THE DATE THE 7200
PROGRAM WILL CLOSE AND THE 8200 PROGRAM WILL OPEN. ADDITIONAL
GUIDANCE AND INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED REGARDING NEW DPME
REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETING WARFIGHTING SKILLS MCI PROGRAM (7400).//
