GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. THE PURPOSE OF THIS MARADMIN IS TO SOLICIT
FORMER DRILL INSTRUCTORS (AMOS 0911) TO SERVE AS AUGMENTEES AT
OFFICERS CANDIDATES SCHOOL (OCS) DURING THE SUMMER 2008 MAY THROUGH
AUGUST TRAINING INCREMENT.
2. THE REF SERVES AS THE SCREENING GUIDELINE FOR ALL APPLICANTS.
APPENDIX A (DRILL INSTRUCTOR DUTY) OF THE REF ESTABLISHES THE
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DUTY. EACH APPLICANT MUST MEET ALL
PREREQUISITES ESTABLISHED IN THE CHECKLIST. WAIVERS WILL BE
CONSIDERED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS DURING THE INTERVIEW PROCESS
BY THE OCS SGTMAJ.
A. COMMANDING OFFICERS ARE TO ENSURE THAT EACH CHECKLIST IS
CAREFULLY REVIEWED AND THAT ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION HAS BEEN
CERTIFIED.
B. THE COMMAND MUST INFORM MMEA-85 AND INFO TECOM (G-1) AND
OCS, SGTMAJ VIA NAVAL MESSAGE IF THE APPLICANT BECOMES DISQUALIFIED
AFTER BEING SCREENED AND FOUND QUALIFIED.
C. EACH APPLICANT MUST POSSESS THE ADDITIONAL MILITARY
OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY (AMOS) 0911 AND WILL HAVE SUCCESSFULLY
COMPLETED AT LEAST ONE TOUR AS A DRILL INSTRUCTOR.
D. MARINES MUST BE IN THE RANK SERGEANT, STAFF SERGEANT OR
GUNNERY SERGEANT. MASTER SERGEANTS AND 1STSGTS WILL NOT BE
CONSIDERED.
3. DI'S WILL BE ASSIGNED TO ONE OF SEVEN OFFICER CANDIDATE TRAINING
COMPANIES DURING THE SUMMER OF 2008.
A. SUMMER AUGMENTATION PERIOD WILL COMMENCE 12 MAY 2008 AND
WILL END 15 AUGUST 2008.
4. EACH APPLICANT WILL BE SCREENED BY THE OCS SGTMAJ, IN THE
SERVICE C UNIFORM AT THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:

A. MARINES WHO ARE UNABLE TO MAKE THE SCREENING EVENTS, OR WHO
ARE LOCATED AT OTHER BASES OR STATIONS, CAN CONTACT THE OCS SGTMAJ
FOR A PERSONAL SCREENING.
5. MARINES ACCEPTED FOR ASSIGNMENT WILL COMPLETE THE STAFF
ORIENTATION COURSE (SOC) CONDUCTED BETWEEN 12-26 MAY. THE COURSE
WILL PROVIDE AN OVERVIEW OF OCS STANDING OPERATING PROCEDURES AND
THE EVALUATION, MENTORING, SCREENING AND TRAINING FOR OFFICER
CANDIDATES.
6. RESTRICTIONS.
A. MARINES CURRENTLY IN RECEIPT OF PCS ORDERS WILL BE CONSIDERED
ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS. THE NEEDS OF THE MARINE'S FUTURE COMMAND
(I.E. PENDING DEPLOYMENT) MAY SUPERSEDE THE REQUIREMENT TO AUGMENT
OCS.
7. TAD ORDERS WILL BE ISSUED BY PARENT COMMANDS NOT LATER THAN 1
MAY 2008. ALL TAD FUNDING WILL BE PROVIDED BY TECOM (G-1).
8. BILLETING WILL BE COORDINATED BY TECOM (G-1).
9. MARINES WHO ARE SELECTED AND SERVE IN THE BMOS 0911 WILL RECEIVE
DI SDA PAY. MARINES WHO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE SUMMER
AUGMENTATION PERIOD WILL NOT RECEIVE AUTHORIZATION TO RECEIVE OR
WEAR A SUBSEQUENT AWARD DEVICE ON THEIR DI RIBBON.
10. COMMANDING OFFICERS AND SERGEANTS MAJOR WILL DISSEMINATE THE
CONTENTS OF THIS MARADMIN TO ALL ELIGIBLE MARINES WITHIN THEIR
COMMANDS.
11. THIS MARADMIN IS APPLICABLE TO THE MARINE CORPS RESERVE.
