RMKS/1. PURPOSE. IN KEEPING WITH THE 2002 LOGISTICS CAMPAIGN PLAN,
THIS MESSAGE ANNOUNCES U.S. ARMY LOGISTICS TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
FOR THE REMAINDER OF FY03 AND SOLICITS MARINE CORPS NOMINATIONS FOR
EACH.
2. LOGISTICS SUPPORT OF JOINT OPERATIONS (FORMERLY JOINT COURSE ON
LOGISTICS). SUBJECT COURSE IS CONDUCTED AT THE U.S. ARMY LOGISTICS
MANAGEMENT COLLEGE (ALMC), FORT LEE, VA. COURSE MATERIAL IS
UNCLASSIFIED AND IS DESIGNED TO PREPARE MILITARY AND CIVILIANS TO
FUNCTION IN ASSIGNMENTS THAT INVOLVE JOINT LOGISTICS PLANNING, AND
INTERSERVICE AND MULTINATIONAL LOGISTICS SUPPORT IN A THEATER OF
OPERATIONS. IT INTEGRATES COMPONENT FUNCTIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
THROUGH THE STUDY OF STRATEGY, DOCTRINE, THEORY, PROGRAMS AND
PROCESSES AT THE OPERATIONAL LEVEL.
A. THE COURSE IS EXECUTIVE EDUCATION PRINCIPALLY AIMED AT FIELD
GRADE OFFICERS IN PRIMARY MOS 0402, 1302, 3002, 3102, 6002/4 AND
MID-LEVEL CIVILIANS (GS12-GS/GM-14), ASSIGNED OR ENROUTE TO
POSITIONS THAT REQUIRE JOINT LOGISTICS KNOWLEDGE.
B. DUE TO THE INTENDED SCOPE OF THIS COURSE, IT IS DESIRED THAT
ATTENDEES BE JOINT PROFESSIONAL MILITARY EDUCATION (JPME) ONE
CERTIFIED (GRADUATES OF RESIDENT INTERMEDIATE LEVEL SCHOOL OR
8700/8800 SERIES EQUIVALENT NONRESIDENT PME). THOSE OFFICERS WHO
ARE NOT JPME 1 CERTIFIED SHOULD, AT A MINIMUM, BE ENROLLED IN JPME
CERTIFIED NONRESIDENT EDUCATION AND BE FAMILIAR WITH JOINT PUB 0-2,
UNIFIED ACTION ARMED FORCES (UNAAF) AND JOINT PUB 1, JOINT WARFARE
OF THE U.S ARMED FORCES.
C. WAIVERS. COMMANDS MAY REQUEST WAIVERS FOR CAPTAINS OR
MGYSGT/MSGT THROUGH CMC (CODE LPC-1). QUOTAS WILL BE APPROVED
PENDING CURRENT CLASS ALLOCATIONS.
D. FUNDED ALLOCATIONS. CG MCCDC WILL FUND TO/FROM TRAVEL,

THE U.S. ARMY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT COLLEGE (ALMC), FORT LEE, VA.
COURSE MATERIAL IS UNCLASSIFIED AND IS DESIGNED TO INTRODUCE THE
STUDENT TO THE WORLD OF MULTINATIONAL LOGISTICS OPERATIONS. IT WILL
COVER ALLIANCES (PRIMARILY NATO) AND COALITIONS INCLUDING THOSE
INITIATED UNDER THE BANNER OF THE UNITED NATIONS AND THOSE THAT ARE
AD HOC IN NATURE.

4. LOGTECH PROGRAM IN ADVANCED LOGISTICS AND TECHNOLOGY. SUBJECT
COURSE IS CONDUCTED AT THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE (DOD) CENTER OF
EXCELLENCE IN LOGISTICS AND TECHNOLOGY (LOGTECH), UNIVERSITY OF
NORTH CAROLINA-CHAPEL HILL, NC. COURSE MATERIAL IS UNCLASSIFIED AND
EXPOSES THE PARTICIPANT TO TOPICS SUCH AS FACILITATING TRANSFORMATION,
MANAGING ALLIANCES, ENABLING TECHNOLOGIES, AND AGILE AND SUSTAINABLE
LOGISTICS. CASE STUDIES FROM BOTH DEFENSE AND INDUSTRY ARE REVIEWED,
ANALYZED AND DISCUSSED WITH REGARD TO CONCEPTS, POLICES, PRACTICES AND
PROCEDURES, AND THEIR POTENTIAL APPLICABILITY IN A DEFENSE SCENARIO.
GUEST SPEAKERS, GROUP EXERCISES AND COMPUTER-BASED MODELS ARE USED TO
STIMULATE AND EXPLORE THE FUTURE OF LOGISTICS.
A. THE COURSE IS EXECUTIVE EDUCATION PRINCIPALLY AIMED AT FIELD
GRADE OFFICERS AND MID-LEVEL CIVILIANS (GS13-GS/GM-15), ASSIGNED OR
ENROUTE TO POSITIONS THAT REQUIRE ADVANCED LOGISTICS AND TECHNOLOGY.
MUST HAVE MINIMUM 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN A LOGISTICS CAREER FIELD
OR OCCUPATION.
B. APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT (AS A PART OF THE APPLICATION PACKAGE)
A DESCRIPTION OF A CURRENT OR ANTICIPATED LOGISTICS PROBLEM, OR AN
EFFECTIVE SOLUTION OF A RECENT PROBLEM. PARTICIPATION IN PRE- AND
POST-PROGRAM WEB-BASED LEARNING ACTIVITES IS REQUIRED. TRAVEL ON
WEEKENDS MAY BE REQUIRED TO ACCOMMODATE THE PROGRAM SCHEDULE.
C. WAIVERS. DUE TO RESTRICTIONS SET AT THE SCHOOLHOUSE, SENIOR
ENLISTED OR WARRANT OFFICERS WILL NOT BE GRANTED WAIVERS. COMMANDS
