GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. PURPOSE. TO INFORM COMMANDING OFFICERS, SERGEANTS MAJOR, CAREER PLANNERS, AND MARINES OF REQUIRED CHANGES TO THE FY13 SRB PROGRAM IN ORDER TO SUPPORT CONTINUING FORCE SHAPING EFFORTS.
2. BACKGROUND. REF (A) HAS BEEN IN EFFECT SINCE 01 JUL 2012.
3. ACTION. COMMANDING OFFICERS, SERGEANTS MAJOR, CAREER PLANNERS, AND OTHER MARINE CORPS LEADERS WILL ENSURE THEIR MARINES FULLY UNDERSTAND THE POLICY CHANGES PUBLISHED IN THIS MESSAGE. ALL OF THE OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE REFERENCES REMAIN IN EFFECT.
4. THE FY13 SRB PROGRAM WILL BE TERMINATED ON 30 JUNE 2013. MARINES WITH AN ECC DURING FY13 WILL NO LONGER BE ELIGIBLE FOR AN SRB. THE FY13 ECC IS DEFINED AS: ANY MARINE WHO HAS AN ECC ON THE DATE OF REENLISTMENT BETWEEN 1 OCT 2012 AND 30 SEP 2013.
5. FY14 SRB RATES WILL BE PUBLISHED VIA SEPCOR.
6. COMMANDERS, SENIOR ENLISTED LEADERS, AND MARINES ARE REMINDED OF THE LATERAL MOVE REENLISTMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR INTERESTED AND QUALIFIED MARINES. OPEN MOS'S AND THEIR AVAILABLE BOAT SPACES, MAY BE FOUND ON THE BOAT SPACE REPORTS LOCATED WITHIN THE TOTAL FORCE RETENTION SYSTEM.
7. THIS BULLETIN IS NOT APPLICABLE TO THE MARINE CORPS RESERVE.
8. THIS BULLETIN CANCELS ON 30 SEP 2013.
